I really hate to do this, but I feel like getting 85 herblore now will really help me out a lot further down the road...

 

I've never actually trained herblore extensively before, and know almost nothing about training it efficiently or cost effectively.

Anyways, here is what I ask, would it be possible to go from 59 herblore to 85 with 60 million gp? What potions should I make?

 

Also, I haven't actually gotten the herbs yet, I was wondering if actually buying them after the weekend had started would be a good idea? I assume people would rapidly begin to try and dump unwanted potions/unused/cleaned herbs as soon as possible once the weekend starts, allowing me to potentially scoop them up for a reduced price (at least thats the hope, am I crazy for thinking this).

http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Herblore/Production_costs This page should help you to work out costs. Decide the pot you want to make, take the xp you need and times it by the gp/xp cost. Eg. Prayer pots to 85, you need 3 mil xp and they are 17.3 gp/xp so 51.9m loss for 85. So yes you could get 85 with 60m especially if you utilise double xp. Prayer pots are good for cheap xp before you can make extremes/spec restores. For your other question, I'd recommend buying supplies early if you can, supplies might be hard to buy on the day because most people with the supplies will be using them not selling them. Or they might be cheap because of merchers dumping them but theres no way to know for sure

If you do slayer or such make sure to gather resources to do your higher pots on the BXW aswell. For example if you do slayer make atleast 1k of super att/str/def as well. I got from 65-84 in 2 BXW just doing pots that I needed. Sure I make them in excess, but this weekend I have like 30M supplies and I will prob reach 91 herb or pretty darn close. So if you use other pots then make them - a lot. :D

Wrong, make the cheapest pot, then buy whatever pots you need. DIY is almost always inefficient.

 

When you have access to stew to spec restores and superantifire, make those, then continue with extremes ;-)

You can probably get 85 with less than 30 mil if you make around 10k potions on xp weekend.
