That_Brown_Kid
it's a good way if you find a good item. the best merchants have good items. their livelihood is based on the secrecy of that item. flip highly traded items to start.

That_Brown_Kid
I used to flip whips/furies for like 1-5m/h depending on how fast you can grind it. now more people flip, so it's less profit.
LitterBug
Whips are weird - it seems like they're easier to merch of people selling then in the GE.I end up at the GE a lot (I'll go there after a slayer task or farming or something along those lines) and if you see somebody undercutting the market a lot then pick those up. Then you go back and undercut the GE price to get a quick sale. This is probably bad in the long run, seeing as this will drop the prices of whips but I care more about my money being easily accessible and movable rather then something that takes a while to sell. Why would buying whips and then selling them for MORE drop whip prices? I do summer garden at time but it takes me around 4-5 hours to get 1milYes flipping is a great way of making money,to get started, try going to the runescape ge database and look on most traded items, there you should find some good items to flip. You could try gOp and join a 50/50 clan(a good 50/50 clan is GOP addict for f2p and GOP addict2 for p2p)save all yr tokens and buy water talismans. Why would buying whips and then selling them for MORE drop whip prices? you're not buying whips off the ge to resell.you're buying it from people near the ge trying to get a quick sale off - it's a pretty frequently advertised item. then i wait like na hour or two and see what i can fetch for it on ge.i generally don't like waiting so i undercut the market to get an auto sell (if prices are too low, I wouldn't) since I'm not waiting for a decent price to come through, the price that the whips sell at are lower then they would normally be (had I waited) which leads to a drop in price... Corbuk
Let's say you buy coal, you put in a offer for +10% and note down what it buys at let's just say it buys at 200gp,Then you sell the coal you just brought for -10% and not down the sell price, let's say 193(I know they may or may not be the actually prices,I'm just making it simple to understand) You brought the coal for:200---------that will be your selling price. And you sold it for:193----------------that will be your buying price So now you start the flip,You start of with a small buy amount, let's say you buy 5k coal for 193(you can buy 1gp over to get them faster) you wait a couple of mins and they all buy, then you sell them for 200gp(you can sell them 1gp under to make them sell faster) Then if that works, you should buy the max limit for buying coal of the ge,witch is 25k(like with all ores) buy and 193-194gp wait a couple of mins and once they buy sell them for 200gp and then u make profit and repeat. I only wrote this of the top of my head, there is alot more to know about flip merching, you should read some guides/look at some videos.but the more you practise flip merching the better you will get,as I said there's alot more to know. And don't use the example I used,it was only a example to show you what the basics are. Also, when you are picking a item it is best to pick a stable item, you can tell if the yellow line and blue line(average) on the 30 day graph are not all over the place,If you get what I mean?? Hope this helps you to understand the basics of flip merching ;) (remember to look at some guides/videos) ;)
Hegelstad
@Above That's completely right, the hard part is to find the best items, but once you have found them, its a breeze. And also, it doesn't really matter if the prices are stable or not, but if you don't have the ability to log in to g.e everyday you might wanna do stable or rising items as you wont loose if you're not selling them on the same day. But nevertheless, if its falling, buy 5-15% under mid + a few gps, sell a few gps under mid. If its stable, buy -5% + a few gp's, sell some gp's under mid or some gp's under +5% and if it is rising, buy a few gp's over mid and sell a few gp's below 5% + or 10% +.
