Ranged Training 75 - 80

Hi guys I've just come back to runescape and been rather thrown into this bonus xp weekend rather by surprise. I've used it to train my combat stats so that I can hopefully move onto to some DKs. I have moved on to ranged training and I am currently using throwing knives at giant spiders in the security stronghold. As far as I can see with bonus xp (my multiplier is now down to 2.1) is about 100k an hour maybe slightly more. I was wondering if at 75 ranged using chinchompas would be quicker - now I can see you saying ofcourse chinchompas are quicker its bonus xp but I would be doing chins when it is back to normal xp as at the moment I imagine all the spots are absolutely packed. Anyway you've listened to my little spiel and now down to the general questions:

 

1) Is it effective to train ranged from 75 - 80 using chinchompas?

2) At these levels what is the experience rate per hour for chinning?

3) About how many chinchompas would I need to gain these levels?

4) What sort of ranged bonus would I need to be effective using chins (any equipment I should really try and get before starting)?

5) At level 70 prayer how many prayer pots would I be using and what sort of prayer bonus would I want?

 

I understand you may not be able to answer all my questions but any help would be appreciated - thanks in advance for all your help!

This depends on your income, tell us what your maximum income is when moneymaking and we can tell you if chinning is efficient for you or not.

Up to 340k exp/h at level 99. Lover levels will give less exp/h however I can't rememeber exactly how much.

3) About how many chinchompas would I need to gain these levels?

 

At lvl 99, one can get up to 280 xp/red chin, and 360K xp/hr.

At lvl n for all n > 70, one can get up to 280(n/99)^1.1 xp/red chin, and 360K(n/99)^1.1 xp/hr.

 

For grey chinchompas, multiply the above numbers by three quarters.

 

From there it's simple math.

 

4) What sort of ranged bonus would I need to be effective using chins (any equipment I should really try and get before starting)?

 

Full void elite with deflector , archer ring, archer boots, armadyl top, fury.

 

5) At level 70 prayer how many prayer pots would I be using and what sort of prayer bonus would I want?

 

Fury and full void elite will cover you nicely. The prayer potions are cheap compared to the chins so you max your range bonus over your prayer bonus.

Thanks for answering my questions. My max income is probably about 1 - 1.3mil an hour however I would be prepared to invest in level 80 range as I hope it will allow me to increase my earning potential. Also do I really need to have full void is it worth the time in pest control for the amount of chins that it will save? Also I havn't been on this game for about a year maybe slightly more so excuse my ignorance but what is a deflector and its advantages? Thanks again.

In that case chinning would still be efficient, thought getting 80 range before starting would be awesome. Full void is amazing, I personally love it, if you've been gone then there was a void quest series which will help you get on your way to full void. A deflector is a new void piece gotten from the minigame "conquest", it fills the offhand slot and replaces one other void piece allowing you to take a body for range. You will likely use your void even after you finish chinning so though it's not a great investment for chinning alone, in the long term it is amazing.

 

All this being said, 75-80 range won't increase your earning potential much.

Thanks for the advice I do rather enjoy most RS minigames so I may aswell spend some time at pest control. As to your final point I have been told to have atleast 80 range to start doing DKs would you suggest higher than this?

I'm not very experienced there but I was under the impression that you need much more then 80 range to do DKs.

Maging rex with atleast 80 magic seems a lot more reasonable.

On task w/ arcstream and cog + charge would work well, but people on task with surge would probably still crash you.
