Dangarous
Hello everyone, I'm Dangarous, and I've had 60 prayer for as long as I can remember, never bothered to raise it. A few days ago, I decided to get 70 for the abilities to use Piety and to bless gravestones (in case of teammates death while monster hunting, etc...) I was able to go from 60-70 Prayer in a few hours, so I figured I'd share it with everyone.. First of all, let me just say, THIS IS NOT CHEAP! To get from level 60-70 cost me about 9M If you have a decent combat level (80+), I'd recommend killing Green Dragons and selling the bones. The quickest way to raise prayer is to use Infernal Ashes to pray at the Ectofuntus.. The quickest way to get Infernal Ashes is obviously to buy them at the Grand Exchange, as of 4-11-11, they were going for 4,701gp per, but if you don't have the money and want to collect them yourself, here are the monsters that drop them:Abyssal Demon (Level 85 Slayer required)Ice Demon (From the Temple at Senntisten quest)Nechryael (Level 80 Slayer required)Tormented Demon (Must have completed the While Guthix Sleeps quest)Black Demon To figure out how many Infernal Ashes are required to achieve the Prayer level you're aiming for, go to Tipit, click "Skill Calculators", find "Prayer", and type in your information. Make sure you use the one with "(ecto)" at the end, or it'll only tell you how many you have to "scatter". The quests that are required for doing this are:Ghost's AhoyKing's Ransom is helpful, but NOT required, it gives you the ability to use the Chivalry (Level 60 Prayer) Prayer and the Piety (Level 70) Prayer Also note that it is VERY helpful to have 65 Agility, not only does it help your run energy regenerate faster, but it gives you the ability to make getting to the pool of slime below the Ectofuntus much quicker by allowing you to use a shortcut instead of running all the way around the other side to go down the steps.. However, no agility level is required. Items required are:Infernal Ashes (However many you need for your target Prayer level)Decent amount of Dueling Rings (50-100)Ectophial (If you lost it, using your Ghostspeak Amulet, speak to Velorina inside Port Phasmatys to get another one)Buckets (100+)Ghostspeak Amulet Now, once you've acquired all the necessary items, here are the steps involved in training your Prayer (Note that there are many different methods and techniques for doing this, but this is the one I've found to be the most efficient): Step One: Equip nothing except your Ghostpeak Amulet and a Ring of Dueling (8) and in your inventory, have your ectophial and 27 Buckets. Teleport to the Ectofuntus using your Ectophial. Step Two: Go down the trap door next to the Ecotfuntus, if you have 65 Agility, jump down, and run to the opposite side, go down the stairs, run to opposite side, repeat until you're at the bottom in front of the Pool of Slime. Use a bucket with the Pool of Slime and it will automatically fill all buckets in your inventory. Step Three: Teleport to Castle Wars using your ring, using the bank chest, deposit your buckets of slime and withdraw a full inventory of buckets. Use Ectophial to teleport to Ectofuntus and repeat Step Two until you have 100-300 Buckets of Slime. Step Four: Once all your buckets are full of slime, teleport to Castle Wars, withdraw (if you have any) your ecto-tockens, 13 Buckets of Slime, and 13 Infernal Ashes. Teleport using your Ectophial. Step Five: Worship on the Ectofuntus 13 times (Just keep clicking till your done, goes quick). Every couple trips or so, you will get a message saying you must collect your tokens before you can pray again, simply click "collect" on the Ghost Dicsiple right by the Ectofuntus and you're good to go (he will give you the tokens you earned. You MUST collect these for some reason...) Step Six: Teleport back to Castle Wars, withdraw 13 Infernal Ashes, deposit your buckets, withdraw 13 Buckets of Slime, teleport back to Ectophuntus, and repeat. Once you're out of Buckets of Slime, fill em back up and continue until you got your desired Prayer level! Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, suggestions, rants, compliments, etc... Thanks! Hope this helps!! First guide I've written in years.. The Observer
I like the steps, but perhaps you could add some pictures to accompany the guide, such as inventory setups you prefer or anything similar.
Hegelstad
Good guide, but do you have any statistics that prove that this method is more efficient than normal dbones/ashes on a lit gilded altar? LitterBug
It's not more efficient but it's cheaper gp per exp. Ecto-ing infernal essence = 250 expDbones on Guilded Altars = 252 exp You're getting 2 more exp for about 2k more gp which is a lot higher

If g altaring is a lot faster, you would save money by saving valueable time. (random troll fact: till is with two ls) My lame drops:6 Effigys1 D Med - 1 D Dagger1 Verac's Helmet - 1 Guthan's Platebody

(random troll fact: till is with two ls) This If you make more money than the cost difference in this method per hour, then this method is slower than dbones on guilded altars. Makes me wish we could grind dragon bones with a pest and mort, but we can't :/ NOTE: This isn't a bad method. Its faster than ectoing Dragon bones. My friend did 92/93-99 this way just recently. Shame we still need the buckets of slime XD

Did anybody say til instead of till?If you're speaking about my sig, people use til for until. Not so random troll fact: it's valuable not valueable.
