Fishing exp rates

Well, I'm getting ready for the long haul to 99 fishing. So far, I've made it to 93 fishing monks. I've been getting about 30-35k exp per hour and I was just wondering what other methods come out to be.

 

I've been thinking rocktails might be where I go next so that I can still make some money while fishing. However, if other methods are really much better, I might consider them as well.

 

What are your opinions?

Rocktails are around 40-45k xp an hour.

 

Better(efficient) options would include barbarian fly fishing at around 75-90k xp an hour(depending on the methods used) and c2 fishing(80-100k xp an hour solo).

 

Fishing for money is NEVER worth it.

Thanks for the info. How would you rate these in terms of being "afkable." I do find fishing a little bit boring, so I would like to be able to do something else while I fish. My guess is that it would put fly fishing down at the bottom, but I'm not quite sure.

 

Also, any chance you could explain the dung fishing method to me? I haven't ever tried skilling while in the dungeons, so I'm not exactly sure what I would be doing there.

Snip snip sniped =(. All I can add to xpx's guide is that, at 85 fishing, I was able to get around 82-5k exp/hr without logging in/out to speed up dropping of fish or binding cosmics (they save 30ish seconds per floor.) I would assume you can do 90k+ without much trouble.

As far as the money portion goes; I know it's not a good moneymaker, but I always find just grinding xp for the sake of the xp to be near intolerable. For the same reason I don't powermine, ivy, etc. I just like to get a little something extra out of my training. Also, I know I could make more $ farming in the time I save, but I reeeeaaaaallllyyyy don't like farming, not enough patience, hence the movie watching while fishing thing.

Ivy is actually the rocktails of woodcutting but as for the afking part, for me it really comes down to how much you actually like the game. Assuming you don't push yourself playing too much, the higher clicking intensity method, assuming it's feasible(unlike something like pickpocketing or fletching while woodcutting) is always alot more beneficial in the long run. I would only consider high afk methods if i really hated the skill and had other thing to do at the same time.

Speed=barb fishing which is between 70k-85k an hour from experience

Cash wise=rocktail with somewhat decent xp but about half of barb fishing
