Dungeoneering - Spear vs 2h

i haven't done any dungeoneering in months so haven't really kept up to date with developments.

 

i thought a spear was considered the best weapon because you can poison it and use all 3 attack styles, but reading through a few threads today everyone is saying 2h.

 

has something changed to make 2h better or am i remembering wrong?

 

i only solo if that makes any difference.

The addition of the Berserker ring tier made 2H a far more superior weapon than the spear.

An update came about where you could customize your ring of kinship into different classes, with the beserker class, you could gain up to 20% increase in damage which outweighed the regular use of the spear and posion. Now also with the use of surgeboxes and or hexes, most people dont just use one single class, and are more beneficial as a hybrid.

 

As for solo, I think 2h will do great, but you should consider getting some large dungs done inna team.

ok thanks i've looked that up now.

 

given the small amount of tokens i've got saved up and relatively slow rate i can earn them solo, is it still worth me spending them on upgrading a ring?

 

if so, is there a particular tier which i should be aiming for before it's worthwhile or is 2h+tier 1 still better than a spear?

I think tier 6 is barely 10k tokens which is a joke when you think of the benefits.

You can also reset your ring one time and get the tokens back.

T1 with a 2h is better than a spear. The slash bonus is so high you can essentially brute force your way through any monster weak to stab, and you have a crush option for the others.

Worth noting some stab weak things (eg: Hellhounds) are weaker to crush than slash. Don't just slash everything.

True, my point was that stab weak things arent particularly an issue when your slash bonus is so high so you aren't losing much by losing the stab from the spear while you gain a ton from the ring with the 2h.
