transcript80
So I got the challenge from Kuradal last night. I have never slain Jad before, not even reached him. Got wiped by 360s when completing the Karamja (hard) task a while ago, I sort of got lucky without much thought. Now I want to get that cape while I'm at it. I'm thinking of meleeing the bulk of caves, and range the 360s and Jad. Setup:FSHfurySW cape (have untrimmed skill cape or ardy 3)BCPVerac's skirtD bootsWhip Dragon defenderBarrows gloves For the ranging part, I have Karils top and skirt, rune c bow, zammy book (?) and diamond tipped adamont bolts. I plan to take EEE for healing, 2 extreme attack, strength and ranging potions (4). 6 brews, 6 restores, rest prayer potions. Advice/suggestions on either equipment or inventory? Would it be faster to range the caves? My stats are 97 melees, 80 prayer and 88 range. Other data was removed when acoount got hacked...
Dex
Melee is always faster. The 'bulk of the caves' are actually the 360 and jad. If you pray mage from wave 31 onwards, you shouldn't get wiped out by the 360s at all. Range is the easier method tho, so you might want to try it since this is going to the first time you reach jad. I don't know how you will fair with melee seeing as you don't have soulsplit. If you want to melee, you will have to be very good at sidestepping the 360s melee atk. Another thing is that I found jad is much easier with melee then range. Before you get to jad, brew over max lp, restore drink your ext, cast veng. The first half the battle is just regular prayer switching, when the healers come do 2 d claw spec and don't worry about prayer switching. As long as you didn't get hit in the first half of the battle, jad can't kill you in 1 hit and you will veng him for quite alot of damage.
1dhunter
Only range jad, with your stats you could do all the waves before Jad in 40 minutes if not less... Outfit seems fine. For meleeing the 360's hit them once as soon as the magic animation starts and step aside immediately. This might take some getting used to but it's worth learning it in case you lose your firecape.
Quyneax
Since your melees are a lot higher than your ranged - I wouldn't recommend ranging the 360s. Practice the sidestepping on frost dragons or so. Spec weapon - 3 overload - 10 super prayer (think you only need 8, but whatever) - 4 pieces of ranged gear for Jad (top-legs-handcannon-handcannon) - rest brews. That'd put you at 10 brews. That's just ridiculous :P. The first time I tried meleeing the caves/ranging the 360s my spare handcannon blew up on the first or second 360 so I had to learn kiting on the spot, I hadn't done it before. I got hit approximately twice on the way to Jad (where I died but that aside).
