PvMNade
Hello fellow tip.it members, I have run into a problem...I will soon be having having 80-85 dungeoneering and I'm not sure to get, a chaotic maul, or a chaotic rapier. I don't boss much, but I do pk, and by the time i have 80 dungeoneering I will also be around 97-99 strength. Stats-82Attack84Strength(soon to be 97-99)75defence82ranged99Magic84constituion They look a bit fail atm, but by the time I get a chaotic I'll have them pro-pk..SO yeah, that is basicly what i'll use it for..Pking. Ermy
Rapier first, maul later. Those with a little bit of knowledge are more dangerous than those with none.
LitterBug
you won't get all those levels from just dungeoneering. also, chaotic weapons are a bit risky to use in the wildy (of course unless if it's the item you protect)however, since it would protect over claws (iirc) then you couldn't spec as well. Anyways - most people like using the maul for pvp due to a high hit potential.^i.e get an opponent to low-ish health and hope for a massive maul hit. rangers5000
Tbh rapier first as u can train and pking with it then get maul
Nifflin
Rapier for training, then maul later for pking. You need to train before you can own at pking. PM me in game anytime It's a lot easier then that for an idiot to sound smart on the internet. That's exactly what you're doing right now... just saying. I didn't mean that I'd have 97-99 strength from dungeering. I've been off and on training like getting a few dungeoneering levels, then a few strength levels. And I'm still unsure about rapier, because I won't train melee after 99strength. Or if I do it'd be with a whip..
LitterBug
Rapiers are > then whip (always) Honestly though - if you get some of the other awards from dungeoneering, you'll be at a point where (hopefully) your dg skills as well as your access to higher levels will make it such that gaining that next chaotic isn't such a daunting task. If you try to die less and try to learn what to do in DG - it's not terribly hard to get ~150-200k at around level 85-90. This isn't even when you get access to the faster/more exp floors. It also helps when you dg with DGS. The abandons I've done there are tons faster then ANY abandons I've ever done with anybody. (It helps that a decent amount of people in DGS have hexhunters too)
aspeeder
Rapier is the better multi-purpose weapon, and the maul is a lot more specialized. If you don't have a very specific set of activities in mind where the maul performs consistently better then go with the rapier as it's a lot more versatile. http://i700.photobucket.com/albums/ww6/aspeeder/Siggy_zpsewaiux2t.png 99 Strength since 6/02/10 99 Attack since 9/19/10 99 Constitution since 10/03/10 99 Defense since 3/14/11 99 Slayer since 8/30/11 99 Summoning since 9/10/11 99 Ranged since 09/18/11 99 Magic since 11/12/11 99 Prayer since 11/15/11 99 Herblore since 3/29/12 99 Firemaking since 5/15/12 99 Smithing since 10/04/12 99 Crafting since 9/16/13 99 Agility since 9/23/13 99 Dungeoneering since 1/1/14 99 Fishing since 2/4/14 99 Mining since 2/28/14 99 Farming since 6/04/14 99 Cooking since 6/11/14 99 Runecrafting since 10/10/14 9 Fletching since 11/11/14 99 Thieving since 11/14/14 99 Woodcutting since 11/20/14 99 Construction since 12/03/14 99 Divination since 2/22/15 99 Hunter since 2/23/15 99 Invention since 01/20/17 99 Archaeology since 5/14/22 99 Necromancy since 11/22/25 Quest Point Cape since 08/20/09 Maxed since 2/23/15 Fire Cape since 02/27/13 Slayer: 3 Leaf-Bladed Swords, 8 Black Masks, 2 Hexcrests, 26 Granite Mauls, 5 Focus Sights, 33 Abyssal Whips, 9 Dark Bows, 1 Whip Vine, 3 Staffs of Light, 15 Polypore Sticks Dragon: 10 Draconic Visages, 7 Shield Left Halves, 20 Dragon Boots, 40 Dragon Med Helms, 8 Dragon Platelegs, 6 Dragon Spears, 20 Dragon Daggers, 5 Dragon Plateskirts, 1 Dragon Chainbody, 63 Off-hand Dragon Throwing Axes, 19 Dragon Longswords, 27 Dragon Maces, 1 Dragon Ward Treasure Trails: Saradomin Full Helm, Ranger Boots, Rune Body (t), Saradomin Vambraces, Various God Pages Misc:1 Onyx,1 Ahrim's Hood, 1 Guthan's Chainskirt, 1 Demon Slayer Boots
Nifflin
Rapiers are > then whip (always) Some people still use whips while cannoning in multibecause chaotics degrade really fast on tasks you cannon. In this case which is best depends on the opportunity cost of using one on such a task which varies from person to person. PvMNade
Alright, thanks. I have decided to go with a rapier, and then get a maul after my 'dung' break. Thanks a lot. I wish you all the best, and PM me ingame PvM Nade, if you want to team dung with me :)
