All lame rhymes aside, I am planning on finishing 99 mage at rock lobsters, using those charms (with what I already have) for 99 summoning, and cannoning cave crawlers for 99 range (and of course saving more effigies, currently have 88).

 

Basically I would like to know:

 

1) Estimated cost per xp on maging rock lobs (ice barrage), charm drop rate, ect.

 

2) Estimated cost per xp ranging cave crawlers with cannon (using melee as well), what would be a good gear set up, and what the effigy drop rate is.

For crawlers, if you are after ranged xp, it's worth using ranged as your combat style, too. Overall, you can manage around 270k ranged xp an hour.

 

The cost would be around 5.5k cannonballs, 400 steel titan scrolls, 13 prayer potions and ranged weapon cost(prefrably ccb repairs+ ~1000 broad bolts). Effigy rate is aound 1/810, killrate with ranged up to 820 an hour(can manage 840 with melee).

If you value all the exp together at crawlers, it only comes at about 4.2-4.5 gp/exp, which isn't all that bad. But if you're using melee, you'll most likely get somewhat low killrate, considering you don't have ovls.

 

Setup for melee would be charged slayer helm with Steel titan scrolls, proselyte legs and plate, fury, dragon defender, dragon boots, bgloves, zerker ring or possibly onyx (i) for the stab bonus, rapier and Ardy 4 cape. Also a little tip considering you don't have ovls, you could skip bringing house tab and just use the Ardy cape tele for 1 extra prayer pot.

 

My drop rate after 32,725 kills is 1 effigy every 761 kills, but it varies a lot. I'd say the overall rate is from 790-810.

last I did it a barrage was 2.5k, so ~380 crims per 2.5m
