July 16, 201115 yr What do you guys think of this one? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001488
July 16, 201115 yr Screens are down to personal preference. If you're ok with the size and resolution/aspect ratio of that screen, then it should be great. Samsung is a good brand. However it doesn't have an HDMI input if that is something you might think about using in the future/now. It is also worth thinking about whether or not you want to bump that up to ~23/24" because with screens even just an inch makes a massive difference (inb4 those jokes). July 16, 201115 yr I agree, it looks like a decent monitor. I have 2 24" monitors and like the larger displays but if you're happy with the smaller I'm sure it would be good.
July 16, 201115 yr Ive owned a Samsung monitor before, and I vouch that they do stand behind their product. My old Samsung had a 3-year manufacturers warranty and I did have to make a claim, which Samsung honored (with a refurbished replacement). I notice the US warranty is 1 year for Samsung monitors now, and its a little disappointing to see they have cut the time down. Maybe its different in Belgium. July 16, 201115 yr Samsung and Dell make pretty nice screens. HP used to, but not so much any more. Steam | Soup | Last.fm
July 17, 201115 yr Samsung and Dell make pretty nice screens. HP used to, but not so much any more. Not sure about what you say for HP. I remember buying an hp screen 6 year ago that only lasted 2.5 years, but the HP I replaced it with (wasn't my choice as it was a gift) still works like new after the 3.5 years I've used it. I wouldn't be stuck though if it died since I have it in dual screen setup with a 2 year old Acer screen.
July 17, 201115 yr It's more important to check who the actual LCD Panel is made by than the brand that it's sold under.

I just don't like their newer screens much, they just don't have the same colour profile that the older ones do. Steam | Soup | Last.fm
July 18, 201115 yr Dell's monitors are terrible, Samsung and LG are the best ones. Personally I've got a 23in Samsung LED Backlight with 2 HDMI ports and a DVI port. It's a phenominal monitor, I play Xbox360 and use it as my main monitor and it's been phenominal!

July 19, 201115 yr I got mine on sale for $100, 23" HD Monitor. Not bad... all monitors have their Pro's and Con's. Dell computers aren't terrible either.

The old ones perhaps not, but the new ones, definitely. RIP TET "That which does not kill us makes us stronger." - Friedrich Nietzsche
July 19, 201115 yr I would suggest shopping some more. I found a 23" for cheaper than that (Acer). My Blog
July 19, 201115 yr Regardless of brand most monitors are made by one or two different companies. Also, like with every other electronic, model is much more important than brand. Saying "Dells are good, HP are bad" or vice versa is stupid, because it is just not true. Every brand has their good products and bad products.
