What should I Hunt?

Featured Replies

I would like to up my hunter to eventually get juju's. I also am working on a long term goal of 95 prayer and 96 summon. I have over 2K crimson charms, so I was thinking that maybe I should hunt swamp lizards for summoning. Does this make sense or should I hunt something more profitable/more exp and buy the swamp lizards?

You should be doing either red salamanders/common jadinkos with a artic bear and hunter pots if possible.

swamp lizards aren't good exp and banking them is going to become horribly annoying.

The time you saved (exp wise) from hunter this way can then be spent on money making (you have pretty good bossing stats so look into bossing or even TDS) which then can be spent on summoning.

I know it's very circular D:

Do Red Salamanders with an Arctic Bear.

Can get around 90k-100k exp per hour there.

how do I "do red salamander"? I have never hunted them before, but that sounds like good exp/hour.

Use the spot south of the ZMI altar. Use all 4 traps and an arctic bear familiar.

does it make any money or just fast experience?

Just fast experience the zero money you will make is more than made up for by quick access to farming Juju's.

Bring a small net and a rope for each trap.

Sometimes you have to hop a bit until you find the right world.

You wear the larupia clothing for the camouflage.

I brought at least 8 nets and 8 ropes when I hunted reds because if you lag out there's a good chance you'll lose the ones that were out already.

I also suggest bringing alch runes. For me,, it was less tedious than dropping and the free mage exp is nice as well.

You release a salamander during the animation of dismantling/setting up a trap (So up to 2 times per trap). Don't think you can release losslessly while running.

Wear larupia camo.

I bring 5 nets/ropes and you can also bring spare arctic bears and summoning potions, but leave space for the sallys.

Should be running around near constantly and you can achieve up to 120k if you're good.

This is pretty sound advice.

You might want to bring one or two artic bears/summoning potions and a ring of dueling or a glory for quick access to a bank.

Red Salamanders are pretty nice because you can just tele to Ourania and you're pretty much there.

There's no reason to grab 8 ropes/small nets (unless you're afking and you lose them which really shouldn't happen in hunter)

Note that lately - there seem (at least when I was leveling hunter) that there were a lot of bots so finding a world may be difficult.
