bullshit. "platnium is so pure you cant bend it!"

WHAT MAKES IT SO PURE DAMNIT

I want to see Lin do a callback and say otherwise, kicking ass.

Anyone still amused all that platinum in the room rivals the amount real life humanity has mined in history?

I was thinking the same thing. Especially that whole wall being platinum. They also pretend like the ground and everything else in the room wasn't at least partially bend-able.

He said the platinum was so pure, it can't be bended. From what it sounded like, there is a bit or two of earth that Lin can use. Of course, she was the only one there who could go one-on-one with one of those mechs and win.

I am liking how she turned into the Avatar Equivalent of The Punisher. Sounds like she is going to show some of that Toph-like attitude.

i'm going to comment on the platinum thing..

okay, so i don't study exo-planets but i have a friend who does (or at least has a fierce interest in the subject). The only reason why we don't have as much platinum on earth's surface as we otherwise might have is because of something named the iron catastrophe .

when our planet was rather young the heat from the radioactive decays from the radioactive elements combined with the other heats to finally melt the irony/nickel, gold, and so on (this wasn't such an easy thing because the pressures were very high).

Then all the densest elements (platinum was one of them) sunk to the center .. forever out of reach of the humans that would come to inhabit the surface.

conceivably that doesn't have to happen though - if the planet's smaller than earth or some other parameters are different everything might never melt and the platinum would remain evenly distributed. which would mean there would be enough do lots of things with it (my friend said all the precious metals in earth's core could wrap around earth in a sheet over a foot thick).

i guess the point is that the fact of the platinum being how common it is is not terribly out of line with the amount of platinum in this universe.

come to think of it though the avatar planet probably couldn't be in this universe anyway. but it could be in another life-supporting universe that happened to have greater platinum production (i think that would be possible.. but perhaps not).

==

really, i completely don't understand anyone who has a protracted emotional response to those things being made out of platinum.

Or Batman. Everyone has that background, she's actually filling that role via vigilante justice. Metalbending even seems like a fantasy version of Batman's gadgets

Marvel > DC any day. That is why I prefer her to the Punisher.

Wait, does that mean she will be extremely brutal in interrogations off-screen when searching for her men?

No, no, they do bend the ground a little. I think the metal-bending fighting style doesn't incorporate traditional earth bending in it tbh. It really seems like they bend metal instead of earth, not metal AND earth.

interesting analysis, so really the platnium in the avatar world could be fairly common.

although it still doesnt explain whats so "pure" about it.

Maybe a type of substance that can't be bended just makes a good plot device, lol.

Or.... Metal_Bending_Introduction_by_AvatarWeiXiu.png

When people go into blind sound wave metal bending mode, you see the metal sparkle. Perhaps those "sparkles" are the little bits of earth left in the metal that earth benders can use to bend the metal. High quality purified platinum has none of those, so it can't be bended.

This is why I like frost dragons. Consistent, not gonna die like that.

I wouldn't want to solo GW bosses - Glacors/TDs seem like better profit, plus they're easier to get to if you die, have more mechanics and... they're made for solo'ing. GW bosses aren't.
