What are your personal opinions on the Whip Vine

Featured Replies

I'm going for 99 slayer and i need the best weapon but i can't really stop right now to get 80 dung for the rapier, so i thought i'd attach a whip vine to my abyssal whip. :P

Has any of you tried it? Is it good? Atleast little better than the normal whip? And will the price go down even more? I heard it's around 4m street price now, is that true?

It has better stats than the whip, so in general it would be better to use than a regular whip.

The vine whip is slightly better and apparently if you use the spec but change weapons, the spec continues.

I just want to say that, now would probably be the most efficient time to dg and get the rapier.

The stats are quite amazing (a hugely noticeable increase from the whip).

Additionally, you would be experiencing much faster task from those that are moderately high defense/weak to stab - i.e dragons/bloodvelds to name a few

Also, having a CR would increase your cannonable tasks by a lot (how much damage you do from your CR + the increase in damage from cannon)

My personal opinion might be a little offensive. I think people who can't DG at least till 80 are kinda noobs.

The whip vine might be useful on a few tasks but it isn't gamechanging.

It's a lot easier then that for an idiot to sound smart on the internet.

That's exactly what you're doing right now... just saying.

My personal opinion might be a little offensive.

Then keep it to yourself? A simple "the rapier is definitely worth the time taken to get it" would have been fine, don't you think?

On topic though, I've tried the addition and it really doesn't make a noticeable amount of difference. While the spec is nice, I don't believe it has better dps than other weapons such as claws or korasi.

Considering you've probably got around 75 hours left for 99 slayer, it's worth the time to get 80 Dungeoneering.

Yes but in the patch notes of this week it says something about JAgex changing it so it doesn't adopt the stats of your new weapon, so there's no point in doing so unless you only use the whip vine for specs.

vine whip would be worth it to use to slay while your waiting for floors to fill to DG for a rapier.

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).
