January 13, 200620 yr I have realised that many rule-breakers have created multiple accounts to scam and do all sorts of things that spoil the game as they do not care if their new account gets banned. It also gives Jagex a trouble of banning lots of accounts. I suggest that Jagex should forbide people to have multiple accounts on Runescape 2, just like in RSC. This will not give the scammers and autoers a chance to use new accounts to spoil the game. What are you viewpoints? All feedback are welcomed. :wink:

January 13, 200620 yr Author No, I mean from now onwards. Honest players can still keep their multiple accounts. But I think Jagex should ban those accounts that are created to scam or are using macroers. This will lower the number of rule-breakers on Runescape and create an easier job for Jagex to handle. They also wont receive so much abuse reports.

January 13, 200620 yr how could they do that? They can't. There is no way for them to know who is creating an account since they have to rely on the creator giving true and accurate information about themselves. They can't check IP addresses since you can have any number of computers hooked up through a router using the same IP address (i.e. a business, school, or library). They can't rely on checking email addresses since many ISP's allow people to make unlimited aliases for their email accounts, or someone could have multiple free accounts.

January 13, 200620 yr I dont think multiple accounts were banned in RSC, or if they were it was after i stopped playing classic. Besides, banning second accounts doen't work, people dont always like their original character.

It is not creating multiple accounts that has been blocked, but creating new accounts that has been blocked. With the fluctuating IP addreses, banning multiple accounts is foolhardy and impossible. But having mutiple account is the MAIN reason why there are so many autoers and scammers these days. We need to think of a way to get rid of them. THAT is what I want to acheive. :cry:
January 15, 200620 yr No I just believe that they should be banning people's ips addresses from playing rs so that they dont spoil the rest of the game for the people who like to play farely. That way they wont have to implement mesures like banning people with multiple accounts and everyone can enjoy themselves.
January 15, 200620 yr What a horrible suggestion. Why would you want to do that? What if the player wanted to start a whole new journey in RuneScape? And got a little sick and tired of having such a high level, with nothing more exiting to do. Another thing, what if the Player has relatives? And the people related to the player have the same IP. Most people on RS have ages around 13-18, which means that they might be staying in the same house. If you wouldn't allow multiple accounts, the other family member wont be able to play. Unless you let him play on your account. Which most people here hope that doesn't happen. Totaly my opinion.
January 15, 200620 yr Haven't you ever played a game and then wanted to start over from the beginning? It's called replay value and RuneScape has a lot of it. This would take away the replay value and the value of RuneScape in general. Besides, how would you make sure people make only one account? Many people can log in from public computers like schools and libraries.
