quick slayer question

i have started doing some slayer with extremes and piety. i am not quite sure however, what i should be focusing on, pray bonus or str bonus....

currently im using whip, veracs skirt, pros chestplate, slayerhelm, fury, barrows gloves, dboots, ddef, and fire cape.

this set up gives me 19 prayer bonus and 116 str

should i switch fire cape for soul wars cape? which would give me 29 pray bonus and 112 str bonus.

 

any advice is much appreciated :)

 

oh and btw i have reverance aura, but i dont know if that actually helps or not...... i havnt noticed much of a difference...

19 prayer bonus is enough, the effectiveness of prayer bonus goes down as the amount of bonus goes up (at the difference between 0 and 5 is FAR bigger than the one between 25 and 30, and it maxes at 30)

Unless you're gonna switch your chestplate (for bandos, or a barrows plate), I'd say you should stick to the fire cape.

For max speed people would recommend fire cape, there are not many tasks you can't do in one inventory of prayer pots/food. But if you care about money SW cape is probably the best option to avoid wasting as many prayer potions, and is certainly the best option for tasks where you're praying a protection prayer and turmoil at all times to avoid excessive banking.

 

All in all, 4 strength is pretty minimal. And 12 prayer bonus isn't too important when your prayer bonus is already so high. So it won't make much difference either way.

If you have 112 strength bonus, adding another 4 would increase your damage output by 4/176th, or about 1/44th, almost 2.5%.

 

If you have 19 prayer bonus and you add another 10, you'll save another 250 prayer points per hour using piety at all times. That's about 10 doses worth at level 70, or about 8 doses worth at 99. One dose costs about 1k.

 

For most slayer tasks, you will keep your prayer low and only repot at 5-10 at the end of a task, teleport to Kuradal, get a task, then use a teleport to house tab to recharge prayer, summoning, take a glory to Edgeville, gear up and do the next task. So for a 40 minute task, where you'd use about 1000 prayer points (~10 potions) you'll actually save yourself about 3 doses anyway because you start the task with full prayer.

I believe Bandos+SW Cape is 2 str over Prossy Top and V Skirt+Fire Cape, but unless you can afford Bandos, stick with Fire Cape.
