Leveling firemaking from 73-92

for Varrock elite. I have 1.1K mage logs and 500 yews, which I can obviously buy more of if need be for bxpw, but I have 2 questions

Would it be a wasted to traing firemaking during BXPW?

I am first doing a mage tree run, then second getting 99 herby from 98, no problem, doing addy plates, I have like 800 addy bars, and eventually doing ZMI rcing and summoning when it gets down to 1.1.

Do I have time for firemaking before ZMI rcing, and is it worth spending time on BXPW on firemaking which would take time away from ZMI rcing?

Second what other training methods should I consider? I have heard the mutated thing that drops whip vines, is a good training spot for firemaking is that true?

Thanks

Don't sacrifice zmi time for firemaking. Rc is a slow as hell skill; firemaking is one of the fastest.

The best method is burning with a tinderbox and pyrelord at the same time. I think there is a guide in the metagaming subforum that shows how to do it.

I don't think that with the amount of things you are doing you will have time to fit firemaking in before ZMI RC if you want more than a 1.1x multiplier for ZMI.

As for training methods I would suggest the Pyrelord method that has become popular recently for the quickest exp rates.

As for training Firemaking during BXPW, I dunno. I would say that anything that can be trained with pennance horn probably isnt worth it, but I am throwing in some Agility into my BXPW.

I only have 2 tasks left in elite varrock, 92 prayer and 92 firemaking, if my snaps ever sell, I have the cash for 92 prayer, and I want to use those 3 40K exp lamps to help me get either prayer or summoning, as both will be very high by then. I should have 94 summoning after BXPW

Technically, you're saving the same amount of time.

I.e, during the first 2.7x multiplier (the first half hour), you will always save 1.7x30 minutes of skilling time.

This is why people choose to do buyable skills because you're paying a lot less then you would normally (of course, this is assuming the prices aren't so ridiculous that you're spending a lot more gp/xp then you normally would)

However, saving some rc time may be better then saving some firemaking time (if you consider rc a lot more boring)

In my opinion, I'd probably do fm over rc (if that's my only two skills left to train).

This is because fm is a lot more intensive and you have to pay attention and get your pyrelord to light logs.

Whereas rc is just running to the altar, teleporting banking and etc.

also if RCing is a money maker, and you level it, you are technically giving up the money that you could have made, where FMing is a money sink... unfortunately RCing hasnt been a good money maker since RWT, I mean free trade came back....

100% correct. The most efficient thing to do on the xp weekend is the most expensive buyable you want to level, usually construction or herblore, but ignoring those, magic logs are around 4.5 gp/xp, about on par with smithing and some forms of crafting. It's still better to do fletching (broad arrows are 8 gp/xp or so) but as fletching xp is really completely useless compared to firemaking for adze/Varrock elite, I'd say go for it. Magic logs only.
