Herblore

Featured Replies

This isn't a typical 'what would be cheapest' or 'what would be fastest' thread. What I want to know is, is there a way for me to end up at 92 herblore with a perfect amount of supplies? For instance, a lot of spec restores, a nice bit of super antifires, and an equal amount of extremes to make Overloads. I've seen something somewhere that wrote out the perfect formula for it but I can't find it anymore. I don't want to end up at 92 Herblore with 30k spec restores etc. I want the right amount. Thanks :) I put here in hopes someone already knew so I didn't have to write it out myself.

To staff, I know this seems like a question, but I put here to discuss and hope it helps others by looking into it. If I should have posted in Help&Advice, sorry.

For the equation on how to calculate how many extremes you'd need for a level, making an equal amount, it's rather simple. Simply add up the experience each extreme gives and solve an equation such as the following:

1200x = xp

For example, from 86 herb, my target level was 92. This means I would have to get about 2,919,461 xp, so the equation would be:

1200x = 2,919,461

Solving for x (just divide the xp needed by the xp per extreme set), I'd need 2432.9 of each extreme (or simply rounded, 2433).

If you want to calculate the potions required taking into consideration the xp of an overload, simply make the coefficient of x be 2200.

As far as the special restores and super antifires are concerned, I'd make about 2k-3k of the former and no more than 1k of the latter. Once you calculate how much xp you'd gain from those, you can apply the above equation.

Well, if you want to worry about a nice supply of pots - don't care about the exp but rather about the potions you need.

For me, I did 2 hours of pheonix feather gathering (start off with larupia --> teleport --> eagle transportation --> steal --> bank)

I don't really use spec. restores - but I guess you would start using them when you're bossing (but that's a lot further down the road)

-They're pretty cheap exp (14.75 gp/xp atm) so I would probably make 500 or so

-You probably won't use much more then this and it's going to be a while until you're even going to use these

For my extremes, I calculated how much it would take from 96-99 using only overloads and you need 3,350.

So - what i did was, I made 3000k of each extreme and stored it in my bank to use for ovl

The rest of my herblore exp, I got making extreme atk/str for slayer.

3k Ovl is a lot - but once you have them, everything gets a lot easier.

A lot of people worry about the costs but once you have the pots - you could use them for:

-slayer

-dg

-boss hunting
