maging barrows

storm of armadyl is ofc the best spell.

cost is something else, however. your stats are good enough to melee, which is much better, so i see no reason to mage.

I'm not sure what relevance this has to anything and it could be a plethora of reasons why he might be praying melee and using a bunyip.

Back OT, I'd say just ice barrage or fire surge all the melee brothers (use corners of coffins for safespots) and then claw/DDS spec Karil and Ahrim. I don't know how good black salamanders are anymore, but I'd imagine they're inferior to just straight up maging them.

I'm actually interested in this myself so when I eventually start doing barrows runs in the future I'll be trying a few different setups. My melees aren't at all near maxed so mage might be the better option for the foreseeable future.

You should be able to kill the melee brothers in 3.5 ice barrages each with an arcane stream necklace, chaotic staff and overloads. Since you lack all of these, it'd be more like 5-6 casts which is distinctly worse than meleeing, and the brother would become unfrozen halfway, so I'd say just surge and tank (with or without prayer).

You should melee Karil, Ahrim and Akrisae regardless of what you use on the others. Use Korasi's sword specials and whip/rapier on Akrisae (must alternate between attack styles), pray turmoil when meleeing.

You can heal with soul split on Karil (using Bandos), Ahrim (using void), Torag/Guthan/Verac (using void while maging with barrage or SoA, or using Bandos with anything) and Akrisae (using anything). I wouldn't no-pray Dharok but it is possible, just risky.

He probably tanks their hits, when his HP gets low, he uses the bunyip to heal himself. Saves prayer points.

With what Q said in mind, I'd still go for barrage in your situation because with tanking w/ fire surge there is a high chance of getting destroyed by Dharok and using prayer potions drastically reduces your stay time between banks. Just bring a claws and use 1 spec each on karil and ahrim.

Goals for 2012:

  • Quest Cape
  • MAX
