Powerfrog
Just wondering what the % is that a bolt will be a special attack. For example a ruby/diamond/dragon bolt activating. And what is that % after completing elite seers task? Do you get the increased activation rate in PVP?
Quyneax
I believe diamond specs are fairly common, around 20%, and ruby specs a bit less. But I'm really not sure on this at all and I don't think anyone has any conclusive data on this (yet). Powerfrog
Do all bolt specials activate even if it was going to be a miss? Because if that's the case, it should be pretty easy to test as level, armour and enemy should be irrelevent. I'll try 500 bolts each of the more popular ones over the next few days, and then again after i do elite to compare the difference... Anyone wanna add their own results to the log? enfield
I used some ruby bolts before and after the seers diary - got about 8.5% before and 12.5% after IIRC. My sample size was pretty small, like 500 shots each time.
AHappySeeker
Did you record hits and misses or just spec occurence?
enfield
I just recorded spec occurrence. I am fairly certain that specials are applied after its decided whether the shot was a hit or miss, so you don't need to worry about that. Btw, I remember my conclusion was that it the specials probably went from 1/12 --> 1/8 (I also remember reading something later about the seers diary increasing the chance of specials by 50%). if missing negated a potential spec, then rubies wouldn't be nearly as effective as they are at arma/nex. Oh, I remember testing onyx bolt specs after seers diary, totally pointless because they're useless, i know, but I got 1/16. This agrees with another person's data for the rate of the dragon bolts after he had done the diary, so maybe they are the same. With the previous hypothesis then the rate would be 1/24 w/o the diary finished. anyway, I support this line of research. Knowing the ruby spec rate especially would be super nice - even a relatively small change in its rate can impact the dps of the bolts dramatically when the target has high hp and defense.
