An Alternative Turmoil with 65 Def?

Dusk Souls

Recommended Posts

How would having Def 65 impact on a "Turmoil Zerker" account? I was checking the requirement for both WGS and it needs 64 Def. At first I didn't care, I would pass on the opportunity to do what seems to be a really fun quest; but I would still be able to use Dragon Claws so no big deal... but since RotM needs WGS to be started now I am really considering ditching the idea of a Turmoil Zerker and just play normally trying to make the best of my account.

But on the other hand playing at CL 33 with just 3 defence has proved to be fun and challenging so maybe trying to get to Def 65 just by questing seems like a nice challenge and that would get me access to other really nice stuff (Bandos armour for example)... but I am still not sure, so I would love to hear some opinions on the subject.

Here is a little outdated screenshot of my skills...

TurmoilZerker6.png

except that I trained RC to 15, DG to 5, WC 30, FM 30, LP to 34, Str to 33 and Attack to 34 (I need to take a new screenshot don't I  )

Quests done:

Demon Slayer

The Blood Pact

cook's Assistant

Rune Mysteries

Myths of White lands

Restless Ghost

Thanks in advance

65 defence would mean you'd be able to use Storm of Armadyl - if you intend to pk with that I'd say go for it.

I decided to make a Turmoil Zerker cause I read that they were pretty good for both pvm and pvp (even though that isn't my first intention) and for the challenge of the low levels.

I mostly intend to hunt monsters, though I am not against pking.

Well after a quick calculation doing ALL the quest that give Def Experience and some of the quests that let's you choose I "only" get 322462 exp in defence which according to tip.it combat calculator is 61 Def (or 62 if I immediately do Branches of Darkmeyer).

Seems like a good challenge to me...

You'd be a much worse pker per combat level than 40 defense. But whatever, you'll only be fighting other failed mains at that combat level anyway. I'd probably get 70 defense so you can dharoks fight if you're gettin 65 in the first place.

I'd personally stick to 40 defense and make a seperate account for questing/making money/maxing. Do the money maker first.

The thing is that I don't have the time nor the inclination to have two accounts so that would be my main account. As I've said I considered a Turmoil Zerker because it was both able in PVP and PVM, with the second being more important to me. Besides I love questing that is one of the things I get most enjoyment in RS.

And finally getting to that level only through questing sounds really really fun for me so I'll try to that way.

Well you definitely sound like you should get the defence levels :P. However what you should consider is not getting any strength levels (at least, past 90). The most powerful attack in the game is actually Storm of Armadyl (unlocked after Ritual of the Mahjarrat) and if you had, say, 99 magic and less than 149 total attack+strength, you would be magic-based and be able to use Storm at its most powerful. With 70 defence, 99 prayer, 99 constitution and 99 magic/ranged you're 102 combat. With 60 attack, 99 strength, 43 defence, 95 prayer, 99 constitution/magic/ranged you're 98 combat. The same with 80 attack would be 104 combat (with 41 defence so not able to use void - if you wanted to have void with that you'd need to get 105 combat so might as well get 45 defence then).

So a Storm of Armadyl pure would be the ultimate quest-based pure and would out-damage chaotic turmoil zerkers at a lower level, while also having more defence.

Downsides: Huge cost of Armadyl runes, low (ranged) defence of robes, not many people willing to actually fight you, significant risk required to fight etc. etc.
