Void Mage Vs Proper Mage?

Just curious if anyone tested both a set of High magic attack equipment vs Void mage equipment.

I am currently undecided whether I should keep using Elite Void Mage (without Deflector, I probably won't be getting it anytime soon due to its what I see as a ridiculous requirement), or go straight up magic equipment.

I am primarily going to be camping at the Ganodermic beasts, and choosing between the Elite void mage or a mix of Akrisae's and Ahrim's. I can achieve about 40 prayer bonus and about 100 magic attack bonus with the mix, while I can achieve 49 Magic attack and 29 prayer on elite void mage.

If you were given the choice, which would you choose?

I don't know what magic accuracy is necessary on ganodermics, but I think the main purpose of mage void is only so you have a quick switch for decent magic attack when you're hybriding. Ahrim's, even with some Akrisae, should beat mage void in most scenarios.

I also think 40 prayer bonus is a little overkill. You could probably just do full Ahrims, though you could try pure Akrisae and have prayer sustain.

Ahrim/Virtus will yield this highest dps, but at ganodermics, mage attack probably isn't too necessary, so you might consider using void just so you have a higher prayer bonus and don't have to worry about repairs.

In the end, it doesn't make a huge difference, so just pick whichever's more convenient for you.

If you compare void mage to max mage accuracy and assume that magic works with attack rolls just like ranged and melee, you get:

[(Magic attack in void + 64) * 1.3] versus [magic attack in robes + 64]. Since you lose 9+20+26+15 magic attack bonus using void over max gear (Virtus mask and legs, arcane spirit shield, spellcaster gloves) the 30% bonus you get must equal at least 70, requiring a magic attack bonus in void of 170 for void to be better.

Depends on what gear he has, if he can sell his shield/legs/helm to be able to afford better armour for his other slots then void mage has a lot lower cutoff.

I don't think there currently is any such situation. You can get a 10m setup with arcane stream necklace + god cape + infinity boots + barrows gloves + pps + mage's book + Ahrim's top and skirt + farseer helm + seer's ring (no imbued, no Dominion gloves) which gives you 138 magic attack. That's 202 base. The best void setup requires some 190m gear (ragefire, Virtus top, arcstream/god cape/pps/seer's (i) + void) which gives you 94 magic attack, 205,4 base. But that requires imbued rings of course, as well as void, which is probably 30+ hours spend playing those minigames.
