Does that mean that ultimately I'm not going to major in math? >_> This update came out while my midterms were going on, and I was away from RS for 3 weeks. I haven't even been to the mage training place yet, so I really have nothing of value to input. I guess the general idea of wands is good? It seems like something really obvious, now that I think of it I'm actually quite surprised they weren't put in earlier, even before staves.

Does that mean that ultimately I'm not going to major in math? >_> your hope of a math major is the integral from 0 to 2pi of -sin(x)dx (worst. joke. ever. i seriously pwn you all in geekage. and so does calculus BC) anyways, don't feel bad, i read books too. lots of fun. and who needs to stay on topic when we can tell each other corny calculus jokes :wink: and to add some purpose to my post: i did a test to see if wands are faster at all. i used teacher wand (still working on master wand) and equipped armor, having total magic bonus of -66. tested for one minute, and had a total of 20 casts. did the same thing using the ancient staff and had the exact same results. so as far as i can tell, unless the master wand is different, they're the same speed.
January 23, 200620 yr i personally see no point in these wands. well, atleast all under master. the best one gives 20+ att and def as we all know, but..cost a bundle in runes or cash to buy. why spend money on that? obby staff or ahrim staff give +15 mage att and def plus give other stat bonuses and are a lot cheaper. in my opinion, they are a waste of runes/money.

(What do you get when you cross an elephant... with a banana? (Elephant)(Banana)(Sin(Theta)) in a direction mutually perpendicular to elephant and banana in the direction as dictated by the "i j k i j k" Rule. :lol: ) However, on topic, master wand is +20 +20 so its the best ingame for mage staking. I would just be afraid that I wouldn't click at the right time and I would end up casting too slowly. :oops: and miss some opportunities to shoot. January 23, 200620 yr Author Ive tested every wand so far (beginner, apprentice, teacher) and theres absolutely no speed differential between them and any other staff. That was all just a rumor. Theres no different animation between wands and staves. Not much difference at all. Wands arent that good. Master is the only one that seems to have any significance (at the cost of 3m).

Want to take PDJ off ur friends list and add me Odd? :lol: Heh, well you don't even have to totally integrate to solve that, after all 0 to 2pi is a single complete period of cosine, so naturally it's 0 >_> In any case, it's nice to see that there are other people on RS who are concerned less with being e-thugs and actually take an active interest in some sort of academics in the real world. Over the weekend while I was at the waterfall I literally listened to two guys argue for a good half hour over who was a bigger nerd. One person said he was 14 years old and proceeded to continuously insult the other person for being a virgin. I figured the wands would be like a castle war armor sort of thing, only good for novelty purposes, but if there's a 1-handed +20 wand, then they might not be so near pointless. Then again, I can't stand the angst of PvP, so when I go off to fire magic spells at NPCs I'll still take the convenience of autocasting over more accuracy.
