February 13, 201214 yr Hi, I am popsicles 17. I am f2p. I stumbled onto this great game on youtube a couple months ago, and made an account. I've been lurking this site for awhile, and I realize my stats suck.. Be kind! Also, any help on how to do things like levelling fast, as I am obviously a big noob. February 18, 201214 yr Welcome to the wonderful world of RuneScape, fellow F2P'er. The levels tend to come pretty quickly at the beginning, so try everything and see what you like. Just be sure to come back and tell us about it every so often. :P Check out my blog to read the Adventures of a Big Damn (F2P) Hero. March 26, 201214 yr Author Well, it's been a long time! I stopped playing for a couple weeks, but I have been more active as of late and got strength up. Now it is time for attack.. Fellow f2pers, where are good places for people with my stats to train attack?? I was thinking maybe hill giants? [spoiler=Stats as of MAR 25 2012]
March 26, 201214 yr Good to see a new f2p account on here!I have been f2p and played on and off for about 5 years, so I can tell you a load of ways to train, which should hopefully be the fastest ways possible (however some people may correct me if im wrong about any skills or could suggest even better ways  ) Given your current stats, I think it would be best to get attack and strength to 40 or 50. Best place to train? Flesh crawlers in stronghold of security give the most exp per hour for almost all levels. I recently trained from 91 to 98 strength there on my level 83 account, and I would also train there on my level 99 account.Firstly, try dungeoneering. It is in my opinion the most fun skill out there, and even if you don't enjoy it, you can stop at level 15 for the time being to unlock the dwarven mine resource dungeon, which will be key to training mining at later stage.Do quests as well. Get used to using some of the skills. Some of them are a bit dull, but you get exp rewards, which aren't worth having when all of your levels are high. For now, they will help you a lot.You may think range is a bit pointless, but it adds an extra dimension to your combat. I suggest trying to keep your range level up with your strength level. There are plenty of places to train this. When I started out, I went into the stronghold of security in Barbarian village, and trained on the level 10 minotaurs, where I could hide behind a fence. At about level 30 range, I moved on to the level 27s where you can also safespot. These drop lots of iron arrows, so you could probably get from 1range to 99 range in one trip, starting with just a sling! Mining and smithing go hand in hand, and the best spot to train mining is the dwarven mine, just outside the resource dungeon (there is a bank deposit box in the dungeon about 2 seconds from the iron ore rocks and 3 seconds from the copper and tin ore rocks). At about level 40 mining, the fastest mining experience in the game for free to play is iron ore. Lots of people go to quiet mines and drop all of their ores there. However,it is quicker to bank them in the dwarven mine dungeon, so do this to 99 :ohnoes: No doubt this will get boring, before too long, so you can always try different ores and different locations to see which you enjoy most.Smithing is self-explanatory, and once you have a high enough magic level (which you are making good progress on, so train however you are doing at the moment), you should superheat your bars. This is quicker than going to a furnace in almost all cases, and is good magic experience.Fishing: just fish the highest level fish you can, as near to a bank as you can (or drop the fish).Cooking: cook the fish you banked. Or if you dropped them, go to popular fishing spots and pick up the fish that other people drop. Cook them on the spot and eat them (faster than dropping).Woodcutting: Until about lvl 40, do oaks by draynor bank. After this, do willows either in Draynor, or on the daemonheim resource dungeon, where there are willows and maples (I think you need level 25 dungeoneering for this). Also, try urns. You can buy them or craft them, and they will help you out a lot at this stage.Crafting: Difficult to train cheaply and quickly from my experiences. It is probably worth starting with leather. You can collect lots of cow hides, and get them tanned. Then just craft the highest level object you can. Eventually, you can make silver and gold jewellery. Slow but profitable would be to make gold amulets. These cost more than gold bars, so give it a go.Runecrafting: No profitable way to start with. Make the highest level runes you can. If you mine the essence yourself, obviously it will be profitable. At higher levels you can make more runes per essence, at which point it is definitely not worth mining the essence.Prayer: bury all bones you find, which arent out of your way. It may not seem useful, but later in the game, you'll want a lumbridge explorers ring, which you need 45 prayer for. By burying everything you make slow but steady progress, and it is so much less tedious than training in one location. I hope this helps, and I will follow this thread to suggest better training methods as you prgress  Add me in game for any tips on the spot. RSN is minerpure68
April 9, 201214 yr Good progress! You must play RS in down time? http://forum.tip.it/topic/325514-bonez899s-journey-to-an-eventual-max/ My blog of progress on Runescape.
May 22, 201214 yr Good to see you're still posting here every so often. wpboyer gave you some good advice, but there are a couple of things I'd suggest doing differently. The RuneSpan update made training RC easy and fast for everyone, the downside is that you get no profit or runes when you're done.Make sure you add all your fishing gear to your toolbelt. It saves inventory space and you won't have to worry about forgetting anything. Unless you're powertraining levels, don't drop your fish. Use them to cross train cooking and sell them on the G.E.. Fly fish trout and salmon until level 40, then go to Karamja and fish lobster. There's an NPC on the island named Stiles who will note, either raw or cooked, lobster, tuna and swordfish which are the the only three things that can be caught on the island. Fish as long as you like and then return to the mainland to cook them and sell them.I've found that cross training Crafting with Dungeoneering is very effective. You'll be soloing the lower DG levels, so once you kill the boss you can go back to the smuggler and buy a needle (if it's not in your toolbelt), thread and all the Protoleather you can. Just craft the best item you can that uses the most leathers at once. Bodies give the most xp, but require level 9 so just start with vembraces and work your way up. Doing this only takes a few minutes and is well worth it so save all the coins you find and sell anything you have left over.Speaking of Dungeoneering, I don't know if you have or not but I'd definitely recommend binding a Fractite Spear. It's the best weapon for F2P. You should also check out Sonic's F2P Dungeoneering Guide. It has lots of good tips. That's all I can think of for now. Come back soon and tell us of your adventures, and how you're getting along with your skills. Good luck. :) Check out my blog to read the Adventures of a Big Damn (F2P) Hero.
