Featured Replies

has anyone else noticed now that in barrows guthan heals even if he hits a zero. this is using his special effect?

was this changed ages ago coz i havent been there for a month.

I noticed that too, i think its just if the purple things go up... also....

On the barrows guide on the tip.it main site it shows a way to do barrows without using prayer potions for higher level players, but with me it randomly takes 10 prayer off every now and then... is this normal? I hate it.

The prayer drain is normal, yes.

As for Guthan, yep, the special effect is displayed whenever it triggers, even if it does zero damage.

its normal. You see because you have prayer on he cant hit you. But when he does the special, hes takeing the damage that he would have hit you if you didnt have protect from melee on.

So how much contribution did you make with that post?

The purple effect can trigger anytime, however it will only heal you, or in this case, Guthan, the amount of damage done. If you are praying against Guthan, he may hit a 0 but he heals the amount that he would have done without your prayer.

look how usefull ur post is....

and about barrows, that happens to me just keep fightn him.

that happens on everything. Like the things you have to use certrain slayer weapons to kill, if u have full guthan on and you hit a zero, u'll still heal. This makes you think that somehow its still implented of what you would have hit, but it automatically cancles out...i dunno pretty strange

all your observations are correct

guthan's set effect (healing) is visible

guthan can heal himself through prayer - he simply heals equal to what he would have dealt to you if you weren't praying

for this reason, I personally do barrows in the following order:

(bring a granite shield and food and 1 pray pot and MAGE equip - nothing melee)

dharok (pray)

kairl (pray) - equip granite shield when 4 pts remaining

verac - drink 1 dose pray pot and (pray) for 21pts. then finish him off with shield

torag and GUTHAN - just mage them with granite shield and heal. they require at most 2-3 lobsters each with my stats (really low, actually)

lastly is ahrim - black dhides with 20 rune arrows and no prayer is pretty easy. may cost you 3-4 lobsters

so to tunnels, finish off last dude, open chest, get 6 pl8s, rejoice

if u read the barrows guide it says he heals wot he wud've healed if u didn't hav prayer on which is y u should also bring good armour wen fightin him
