The drop is determined when you kill the monster, otherwise the ring of wealth could not affect any monster drops at all. I do agree 100% that the drop is not completley random as computers cannot generate truly random numbers (rather, the random number generator function in java probably takes some element such as the current time from the system clock and uses a mathematical formula to derive a number from it). That said, I disagree that you can predict when a rare drop will occur at all. It doesnt make sense that jagex would put some counter into the game when simply choosing a random number from various ranges of numbers (depending on rarity of the item) to determine the drop would be more simple and more random. Even if there was a counter - jagex stores so much information on their servers, im sure they could store the last recorded number in the counter before a system update, or simply reset it to 0. If your drop rate was indeed 65% after a system update, im sure youre onto something regarding the chance of getting a rare drop, but I doubt it has anything to do with some counter.

Is this the sailboat skillcape? Finally if you read the other thread about the runescape banner then you will see the Jmod's post hinting about the cape on the guy's back. As you all know they new dev diary came out, something caught my eye in last pic: On minimap is a circle in bottom right with an globe icon. Could this be an in-game world map? If so it is highly psossible that jagex can/has/will code the world map to be like the minimap, meaning you can see the locations of players, or at least friends, in real time! I hope they will add this feature to the game, that would be awesome!

if all you want to come back for is pking, id say its not worth it. Pking no longer exists. Sure there bount hunter, but now its basically a risky minigame rather than a core element of the game itself.

Well if youre learning your first language, learning Java is got to be the most idiotic thing ive ever heard of. You should start with a less complicated language, id say Microsoft Visual C# .NET 2005, or even better, Microsoft Visual Basic .NET 2005. The Express editions are great for beginners (come with a great help system), and its FREE. Google C# or Visual Basic Express editions.

i can handle critisism, but what your giving me is not criticizm, its BS. If you dont like runescape and its graphics, then you should be the one getting out. The people here like the style since this is a rs board and theyre probably playing or have played rs to be here. Just like d scimmy, only its a guthan warspear. I did this fast, and kept the tri count lower than the scimmy (came out to 2012), so its not as detailed as the scimmy, now you can comment and crit but dont expect me to change much of it because I dont have the time. If anyone knows maya you can PM me and ill send y ou the project so you can texture it or whatever, as long as you give me credit. Its not crooked, its just laying on the floor, and since the bottom tip is thicker than the blade, it slants down to the floor, as it would in real life. Yes halo 2 is coming out for PC (Windows Vista ONLY, meaning it will not run on XP), and its coming may 8th. RANT As to the other person, no i dont know you because i just rejoined runescape, and therefore these forums a month ago. Second, if you dont like runescape you shouldnt be on these forums. And finally, dont parade your famousness over the forums, because no one, especially me, cares whatsoever. And while im at it, criticizing my work for the fact that you dont like what its based on, is totally your opinion, but gives you no right to spam on my thread to change it. if you dont like the style, why dont you model YOUR OWN, if you even can. FYI, modelling is nothing like making fakes or photoshopping, this one model took me half a day to make, so at least admire it for what it is. /RANT :notalk:

FIrst of, all, im modelling a RUNESCAPE scimmy, so a RUNESCAPE reference would be more appropriate. As for vista, im lagging a bit more in counter strike source but i suspect it is because of the new laptop my sister got, and she using wifi 24/7. Cant wait for HALO 2 8-)

err... well i was sorta referring more to the runescape version, but nice drawing =D> BTW, i just upgraded to windows vista and it wiped my whole HDD in the process, so now i lost all my work (again), so i guess ill move on to make something else if i getr the time. :oops:

Zonorhc, gimme a better reference picture of a runescape scimitar and ill see what i can do :P . As for the CC, I said in my post i have not textured it at all, yet people are telling me how i didnt texture it enough. for the last time: There-Is-No-Texture-Applied-To-This-Render-AT-ALL.
