Ren
Is there any way to implicate a checkbox or something to merge posts? Not 100% thinking this through but I don't see how it's horrible that I had 3 posts in a row about 1h apart from first to last. They got edited together via a moderator. Nice. Rather not have that happen and be able to do it myself. (though I would be able to if the below bugs were FIXED) Also. Ie9/Windows 7 (idk if this is relevant or not, or if only these specs) Problems: Can't multiquote. Can't quick-edit.Can't click on "Signed in as ..." for dropdown options without it going to my profile. Can't click on my notifications for ^same as above. All of these just become buttons that bring me to the original page for that thing. Multiquote either doesn't work/makes me reply, Edit button for quick-edit dropdown option just brings me to edit, etc. There's more but those are just the main ones I'm pissed about. JeRambo
Just tried using IE and the MultiQuote works, but the same problem when clicking on "Signed in as .. " Don't have that problem when using Google chrome though. Clicking edit in IE reloads the page and opens my post and lets me edit it. Editing in Chrome is faster than in IE however. Solution: Try a different browser. :) "Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come." "An imperfect man can do great deeds, and a great man imperfect ones. Rather not have that happen and be able to do it myself. (though I would be able to if the below bugs were FIXED)You can edit new pictures or additional info into posts of your own which already exist, and one way (which is a bit more work) is to click reply to one post, copy the contents and click cancel, then reply to another post and paste the contents of the first - this way you can still reply to multiple people in only one post. The reasoning for multiple back-to-back posts being merged together is that if you have one person posting multiple things back to back, it stretches the page more than having all of the same info in one post (due to signatures and names, etc. taking up space). Merging the posts together keeps it more organized and stretches the page a bit less. Also, as Jeremy pointed out, you could switch browsers as a temporary fix to the bugs you mentioned. There is a known conflict between a Javascript library in the version of IPB that the forums are currently using and Internet Explorer 9's Javascript rendering which causes all of these issues, which should be resolved when a more recent version of IPB is installed; I asked MageUK and he said it will be a few weeks atleast before the update. As a temporary workaround you can make use of IE9's compatibility view (the broken page next to the url) to use the older Internet Explorer javascript rendering which allows the use of all those functions. tripsis
Not much to say after the above posters, but I will say that I just tested on IE9 and the edit function worked fine for me. The "quick edit" didn't work but it did redirect me to the full editor, which works just as well. As long as the full editor is working, there is no reason to double/triple post. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
