Alright so this is something i've been wanting to try for a while now. I've already managed to complete in on another account using the Steel Titan method, many times. Sometimes using as little as 2 or 3 Brew sips for the entire Kiln. Now i want something a bit more challenging.

Now i'm sure this will be more than possible if i carefully think through the inventory, setup and method.

First of all, i will assume that i'll need to use Blood Barrage almost the whole of the Kiln to maintain constant healing without having to use brews all the time.

For a setup i was thinking something like the following:

 

Bear Helm/Mitre

Mind Body

Black Dragonhide Chaps + Armadyl Robe

Wizard's Boots

Amulet of Fury

Tokkul Ring

Mages' Book/Unholy Book

Polypolre Staff + Karil Xbow

Fire Cape

RFD Gloves (Addy)

 

No none thing i am unsure of is whether or not taking Range will really be worth it. I know using Ranged against the Mages will probably offer a slightly higher DPS but i'll lose the ability to heal, which might make a big difference. It's also going to mean that i'll have a few less inventory spaces for supplies. I know in the earlier stages/waves there are safespots i can use to minimize the damage i take so i will be using these even though it might extend the whole Kiln by an hour pr so, i don't mind.

 

I'll probably have to take 4 or 5 Super Restore flasks then fill the rest of my inventory with Brew flasks. I'm not sure if i should bother taking Magic Potions at all, or even Vecna Skull, as Brewing would eliminate this bonus. Alsom would it be worth it to use an Arcan Stream instead of fury and sacrifice Defense for DPS? Same question for Mage Cape vs. Fire Cape.

What kind of spec weapon should i use, if any? I don't and can't have EE/EEE not SGS. Anything else that might be useful?

 

Is there anything else i should be thinking about?

 

Will be attempting this once i reach:

 

94 Magic and Constitution and 94 Ranged if it's going to be usefull.

60 Attack and Str (unless higher Str would be useful).

1 Def and 1 Summoning.

52 Prayer.

Arcstream is worth it probably, ranged too I should think. Fury doesn't provide all that much def anyway. Mind body may not be as good as monk's robetop, it's only mage def after all.

 

Blood barrage yes, overloads too ideally (or you lose a lot of dps), Vecna if not ovl I think, for the 100% melee waves alone that'd be a nice upgrade.

 

You need to bring a pickaxe & deal with the dills manually which will be a pain.

Buying Overloads will probably cost more than i can afford at the moment ( any idea what the cheapest, relativly fast method will be from 19 - 94, and the cost?). And for the melee waves will D Scim or Brakish Blade be better?

Dill wave will be easy if you can flinch them, Smokey9112 has a good guide for 1 def pures, well worth watching for info.

Hmmm looks like if i use Blood Barrage all the way, i could easily do it.

Only thing i'm a bit unsure about is the use of Overloads. They're going to take up, at least, 3 inventory spots. This might take away some valuable healing later on as well as force me to use a few extra brew sips here and there to safe up. The first 22 waves can be safe-spotted easily, allowing me to take very little damage, so i should not have to use a lot of brews then.

He seems to be using Dhide Chaps for Maging (at least in the start). How much of a bad thing will this be in terms of negative Mage Bonus?

Also i'm not sure about capes, still. Should i go with something that offers Defense (Fire), Prayer (God Cloak) or Mage Bonus (Mage Cape)? I'm leaning towards Mage Cape at the moment, as this is what i will be using most often.

I should probably also use a Mages' Book instead of Unholy, since i will be using a 2 handed Ranged weapon.

Overloads do take up a good bit of inventory space (2 flasks) but you also get around 20% more dps overall and you can replace two restores with renewals, because overloads double as restores. If you assume the Kiln lasts for two hours without overloads, it becomes (roughly) 100 minutes with them. Saving 20 minutes worth of prayer and healing is a pretty big deal, pretty sure that's worth it.

 

Your defence level will also go from 1 to 6, which increases your defence roll by (roughly) 5/9th.

Yeah thinking about it, i realised Overloads will be the difference between almost getting there, and getting there. So i guess 96 Herblore is something i should get. Now the only problem is finding a way to get there with ~100m.

Can you get spicy stews at 1 defence? If so, you can suffice with 91 herblore, if not, 94 is enough with Greeman's ale (m).

 

Doing a cheap method, the ~6m xp for 91 should be doable with 100m. Super attacks/defences are that cheap I think, and prayer renewals are also cheap as well as fast, if you need to get 94 after all.

Yeah you can get stews, but i'd much rather spend the extra money and get 94. Saves me a lot of bother later on. Thanks for all the advice.
