I want to know what a decent set-up would be for my level to use against him. I have the following levels:97 attack95 strength90 def78 range90 mage81 prayer79 summoning95 hp Also i have a chaotic rapier I am planning on using to get into the boss room since this will be my first attempt. May 24, 201214 yr I would first kill the bloodveld, then restock for the boss fight. I believe the stakes are good dps but your ranged level is fairly low, so use a blisterwood polearm with your usual attack+strength boosts and ganodermic. Any and all help is well appreciated! :) You do NOT have to wear the darkmeyer clothing for the boss fight, wear your best gear. For his darkness attack there is one simple way to avoid the damage completely. Stand on the square directly north of him_______ x o Where the line is the northern wall, x is you and o is him. Once he prepares for his darkness attack run straight north to the wall_______ x o While running click the compass to autocorrect the screen orientation north. This will negate all damage completely every time. For the rest of his attacks... Blood bombs, just don't stop running. Summon minivelds, make sure you kill them before they reach him or he will heal. With range you have the benefit of being able to use protect from mage and avoid his melee attack all together. I suggest trying a dry run just to see how you fair in mitigating damage from his attacks first unless you've watched videos of them on youtube already. Good luck, I did it on my first try completely unprepared and finished with 28 lp left. May 24, 201214 yr You don't need to turn your camera away from him afaik Yes you do. Tested it in my fight (which is why I finished with only 28 LP. Having the camera facing him even of my character wasn't still resulted in the max damage being taken. So unless they changed it in the last month that's how it works. May 25, 201214 yr When I killed Vanstrom I never noticed any darkness attack :unsure:. Just blood barrage + ss and heal 200+ damage per cast. It happens extremely fast, its when the screen flashes. Only last like 1-2 seconds
