June 1, 201214 yr You just got level 99 in your favorite skill. What did you get for it, a cape with worse stats than capes you already have and a 1% increase in xp you get? Gratz. I just got 99 summoning and now i can destroy enemies much faster with my new buddy, mr steel titan. Also got 99 attack and can now use the most powerful weapons in the game deamonhiem. More skills need ultimate unlocks to make getting that 99 more significant and appealing. A few examples: 99 agility, you restore run energy as fast as it drains, effectively giving you infinite run. (PVP run draining will have to change slightly to accommodate this, otherwise it is balanced.)99 smithing, you can now smith without an anvil. This is really lame but i struggled to come up with something appealing and not game breaking. I'm sure jagex/community can do better.99 firemaking, handcannon does not break now, at all. You get 15% hp boost from logs. (Really like how jagex have already handled the cannon/logs, but 99 doesn't make any significant difference, you might as well stop at 90 for max hp boost) Obviously people already get 99s just for the bragging rights/aim to complete the game as far as they can, but people like myself do not care about these as much, and just aim to get as much fun out of the game as possible, bouncing unlock to unlock in terms of levels for thing they want, these final abilities are just the incentive they need to go for 99.
June 1, 201214 yr I definitely agree that some skills need better rewards in the higher levels. Jagex have possibly always been cautious about maxing skills out though, giving themselves no room for higher level updates. I would like to be able to assign a cape to my skill capes though, so I could attach my Ardy cape to my craft cape which would replace the craft stats with the Ardy stats, for example.
June 1, 201214 yr I've been vouching for these sort of updates for the longest time. They need to produce bigger updates that don't only add new training methods or a few bit pieces here and there. There needs to be content that is offers the player a worthwhile exclusive benefit. You get that with herblore (extremes/ovls), summoning (familiars), and dungeoneering (chaotics). They've attempted to make mini-updates to grant exclusivity (Red stone, bakriminel bolts), but in actuality it's not really something you get for only for yourself other than a little bit of daily profit. The FM HP boost was kinda decent though, if still rather small. Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug
