AuburnFury
Hi, I'm gonna go for my first fire ever fire cape tomorrow as it's long overdue. I constantly quit and start playing again, so i'm a bit dated on gear, but as far as i know, besides ganodermic stuff, i'm not TOO far behind. I'm just wondering what setup I should use for my stats (I should be able to comfortably do it, right?) would melee be the best bet? I'd rather not spend hours and hours there is all! I have about 20m to get better gear if needed, but atm i've got: whip, neitiznot, torags chest/legs, glory, D defender. Thinking about getting a fury already, and currently working on a rapier! Thanks, and my stats are below:
Platinum_Myr
If you haven't melee'd Jad himself before, I would suggest using melee for the main caves and then mage or range on Jad (and possibly mage/range on the 360s as well?) Because melee on Jad tosses in a 3rd attack you have to swap to. AuburnFury
That's what I was thinking about! I won't ask for guides since there's millions on how to do it :) I have EE but is it worth lending a Sara GS or something else? Also - if I were to melee most of the caves, how long am I looking at? A couple of hours?
Platinum_Myr
Depending on skills, gear, and how good you are at the spots and lures.. I'd think that you should need no more than an hr and a half to reach Jad. I suggest Enhanced Excal over the SGS (unless you don't have the version that gives +400 lp per spec) The Godsword is good but you have to actually get a high hit in for it to be better than the excal, and I don't think the prayer boost would help that much there. I don't know much more about meleeing the caves. Maxed since Sunday, January 9th, 2014Completionist since Wednesday, June 4th, 2014
Th e Doctor
With meleeing the whole caves until jad you're looking at ~50 min to an hour to reach him, kiting the 360s isn't difficult and there's plenty of guides on it. Your mage is a little low so I'm not sure if using a polypore staff would be better than range. EE is definitely better than the SGS as you can do it while safe spotting and if absolutely necessary wait the 5 min timer to use it again for more health. Meleeing jad would be faster than range or mage obviously and it isn't much more difficult. You just default to praying melee and switch to mage or range. As soon as the attack hits you switch back to melee and prepare for the next one. Quyneax
With 20m you can get fury + Bandos chestplate + Verac skirt which is great all-round melee equipment. Otherwise just max attack/strength bonus, neit/ddef/dboots etc. Good prayer-boosting cape would help.Work on finishing the Elder Kiln quest & get a tokkul-zo ring which gives a damage boost vs. tzhaar/tokhaar/tztoks.
