Abby demons

As I close in on 85 slayer, I wonder to myself. Are abby demons still profitable if you protect from them and use a pps as your weapon? I know whips arent nearly the price they used to be, but if they are common enough drops, they can pay for ppots+ staff. I could also horde all my whip drops and see what their price does after the combat update.

Assuming that you are making some kind of an investment in prayer bonus, it should still be profitable. I wouldn't camp them for experience or money since there are much better things to train magic on that will give you a significant more amount of cash.

Dragons of the Iron/Steel variety. To be completely honest though, PPS is horrible mage experience since it doesn't give a base experience per cast. If you really wanted to make money by maging, you could use Fire Wave on Glacors.

Don't bother with protect prayers on them, just tank them. Abby demons are wusses. Something along the lines of Ahrims + DFS/other good shield and you'll have all the defence you need. They are still profitable (as are pretty much any mid-high level slayer tasks), but you're not gonna get rich off them. I'd definately do those tasks, but don't bother camping them.

Training magic through combat is generally bad xp, the only exception is barraging. I'd recommend looking into string jewelry or something.

Not true, surge on glacors and SoA for slayer are both perfectly good ways to train magic (along with money/slayer xp respectively). SoA is faster xp than any non-combat magic as well.

He doesn't have access to either.
