I have tried this game for several times, still not get it.

 

first of all, my character seems not be controlled, the response is badly delayed.

 

secondly, what's the goal of this game, catch the cheese? (seems impossible) avoid rocks & logs? (sometimes I just tripped on nothing)

Just ignore the cheese. Like, don't even click it when you start the game.

 

Your character moves like 8 squares after you click, so you have to plan ahead.

 

Your goal is to get to the bottom of the hill without falling.

It's broken. You fall over invisible obstacles. The click delay makes it near impossible to cross some parts. It's the same for everyone. But you don't need to be good at it, you get the xp and points anyway. It's probably the easiest way to get points too, I get to around ~300 commendation if I don't get tripped by an invisible object.

One can only suspect that different designers worked on Head-To-Head and Cheese Wheel Rolling. When they were both submitted as final, one got congratulatory pats on the back for an interesting and different mini-game, and the other got an "oh jeez, we can't wait any longer".

You don't know that. They didn't make the goal of the game clear. If anything they just wanted a laugh at players raging.

By the way the JMods talk about it, it's clear we weren't meant to be able to catch the cheese.

When I do the cheese wheel activity my character is constantly falling over invisible obstacles. Also, my character often refuses to switch to the left or right while it is running down the hill. Is this intended or a bug?

 

Mod Raven: This is intended. The cheese wheel race is one of inevitability, you will fall at some point. The question is, how far can you get before you fall? Treat this game as a fun and ultimately silly activity, as it was written, and embrace the ridiculousness of falling face first in a race to procure a wheel of cheese that frankly no one is ever going to want to consume.

 

 

Think of it like you are on a huge mountain running down. You are bound to fall, obstacles or not.
