Ranged PKing Stats Advice?

So, this question has probably been asked quite a lot! But honestly, most of the answers I read are players judging stats & saying what to wear. I can figure out what to wear and have in my inventory, I just need help on my stats.

I've never Pked, but I'm doing my research. I am P2p, but honestly I'm more f2p based.

So for f2p (p2p advice appreciated but not required) PKing have i messed up my stats? If I did, I guess Pking just isn't for me & this will be my main. c: If not, what should I level up/leave the same?

Attack: 60

Strength: 70

Defense: 45

Ranged: 77

Mage: 60

Prayer: 44

45 def is 5 higher than you need for f2p but it works in p2p for berserker helmets. 60 attack is 15 higher than you need for f2p, you'd rather have those in strength for KO, but again worth it in p2p. Magic is too low for p2p.

Overall I think you'll want a bit higher ranged level to pk with ranged, because atm you're fighting people with ~90 ranged at the same combat level due to your attack/strength.

Basically, your account has a lot of potential assuming you did things right up until now.

For Ranged PKing you generally want 1Def, 40 - 45 Def, or 90+ Def.

 

Since you're at 45 Def i'll talk about that instead.

Now first off i'm going to assume that the 45 Def is all from questing, and that you have both Lunars and Berserker Helm unlocked.

Venge plays a big part in PKing at higher levels as you'll often encounter people using Claws/AGS to spec, or people hitting high with Dragon Bolts (e). But for this you're going to need to work on 94 Magic. Secondly, you're going to want to get 90+ Ranged. It's almost not even worth PKing without it. On my Pure account, i tried PKing when i was in the high 80's, and it was terrible. At 70 - 80 Conbat just about everyone i was facing had 90+ Ranged, which meant getting kills were hard.

You can also consider getting 85 - 90 Str, which means you'll be able to use Claws for you spec weapon, which will help out a lot. If you don't want to raise you Str, D Bow is your friend. It's gotten me a lot of kills in the past. I'd also suggest getting 52 Prayer for Smite. This is really the only way a Ranged PKer makes any decent money. You'll often run into people asking to turn it off, but i found more often than not, they just turn it on themselves.

Great! Thanks, both answers helped! For now, I will definitely work on getting over 90 ranged, then get 85 strength. I'll look into the 52 prayer as well. Would it make a huge difference if I did work on my magic?

Not in f2p, but in p2p there's some devastating spells (ice barrage, vengeance, polypore staff).

85 strength is a waste ._.

You'll want to get magic as high as possible to increase your mage def.
