August 8, 201213 yr i got to har-aken and got him almost dead, but the tentacles just crushed me, so would an ely help out alot in tanking the tentacles at the end? edit: i'm not sure if this is why, but i didn't kill alot of tentacles, so if i were to kill more of them would less of them be there towards the end? iOwn.... August 8, 201213 yr Killing them doesn't really help you since they just pop up and down really often. Just use gano + range protect and stay away from the mage tentacles. Save magic crystals and constitution crystals for the final wave to help you survive longer. Just don't EVER go towards the middle/center of the arena or you will take more damage than necessary.
August 8, 201213 yr Hug a corner where there's no more than 2 that you can't pray against. If you want you can try to kill the tentacles that are damaging you but leave the ones you're praying against (as a harmful one could spawn in its place) Gano/range protect worked for me but be smart about it, check the types of tentacles on you, and swtich to magic if that's all there is. Obviously an elysian would help (slightly). Also, don't stand in melee distance of tentacles.
August 8, 201213 yr Your main issues is that you don't have Soul Split or a Unicorn; both of which can greatly increase the amount of healing power you have once you reach the final wave.
August 8, 201213 yr In summary from the above two post, and my own experience:- Are you using Gano, protect from Range and a magic crystal when you reach Hakaan?- Are you staying out of melee zone?- Are you using SoA to speed up the kill?- Flashing soulsplit and a unicorn are both extremely useful for the boss.- An Ely isn't all that useful. I'm 85 Defence and killed it with ease both times I have done it.
August 9, 201213 yr Blah.. Save 2 magic crystals to the end (or use second one of those at double jads). Protect range and kill all magic tentacles as soon as you spot them. When head spawns, try to take the corner with least tentacles around. Also it's safe to stay at a position where you get hit least. I would still kill as many magic tentacles as possible if I were you, though.
August 10, 201213 yr Author sorry i was doing kiln and couldnt get back to respond, but i couldn't use mage crystal at the end cause my def was killing me, i was getting owned by like 15 tentacles, but i saved inv crystals for last wave and....=)thanks though iOwn.... August 10, 201213 yr I hate to break it to you, but your magic defense is based upon your magic level instead of your defense level. If you were getting nailed by melee, I guess that would be reason not to use the crystal.

Having a +50 boost in magic should outweigh a -50 drop to defense.

August 10, 201213 yr Author that wasn't the problem.... i know how mage defence works..... it was the piling of attacks and when it was mage heavy i would switch and the range attacks would hurt the most..... the def loss would cost me alot when getting hit by range tentacles but it doesn't matter anyways, i did it. iOwn....
