September 14, 201213 yr This is a neat idea. One problem I see is that I think it would need separate servers to store your other stats. I like the increased xp rate idea for it. Alternatively, I think how it should work is, after someone achieves level 99 in something, they will retain the base xp for 99 in it after they die (e.g. 5M). Skills could go up to say, 20M, with the new xp rates (if you want to make it the same ratio, it'd be around 75M xp that they'd end at), and if they get a skill to the max xp, that saves as well upon death. It'd be an expedited, hardcore version of runescape. Quests would have to be shortened, or in some cases not included. The retention milestones for quests could be every 50 quest points.

Without those pesky pkers that are, on average, equally as strong as you a Hardcore server will feel just like a normal server. Why even mention Diablo 3 if you won't compare it when it has PVP? You might as well have chosen Binding of Isaac, or something similar...

September 17, 201213 yr I can't see it working in RS. Too many non-combat skills and pk'ers being a huge problem. I think the biggest issue would be pk'ers - get a big clan and just grief the shit outta everybody then the game becomes unplayable. Plus, something like this... if the game is perma-death, it needs to be designed to be perma-death from the start. Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller.
