Vexus
Now, I know this is totally ridiculous, and I trust swiftkit verily. But why is my antivirus turning up this diagnosis?
BryanTran
SwiftKit is not a malicious program. It doesn't carry viruses. Either you got one prior to installing, and it is spreading now, or it's a false positive picked up by your security scanner. http://gplus.to/BryanTran

But if it's a false positive, it will still try to get rid of it...how can i make my scanner know its safe? Edit: Also, I have no other malware on my computer, so the first idea is not valid,
The Observer
Is there anyway to whitelist SwiftKit on your antivirus software?
Vexus
Is there anyway to whitelist SwiftKit on your antivirus software? I believe so. I think I got it. I'll send a report to the company saying that the file is clean.
Stidor
Could you also let us know the exact software name and version that detected the false positive?
Marius
We've been in contact with Webroot before concerning similar incidents, the problem is that their antivirus software only partially relies on their own database, the remaining portion is something it learns form what files you download on your own personal computer (this way no two sets of the antivirus are the same), if you download a lot of Runescape related files, get a lot of spam emails relating to RS and so forth, this will unfortunately make the program learn that anything interacting with Runescape that is 3rd party is bad. Due to the nature of the antivirus learning database, it's not possible to get an update from the AV company that solves this, which means you will have to remove the learning database manually on your computer (exceptions reportedly do not function in all cases). I don't know the process for removing the database manually, I've been informed it is possible but this information is not given out freely to non-customers, and the only other way is by uninstalling the antivirus software and telling it to remove all associated files. (We do not recommend completely removing your antivirus unless you have a viable replacement you would wish to use). Vexus
Could you also let us know the exact software name and version that detected the false positive? I just downloaded the one straight off the swiftkit site that same day. Simmo
Seems to be working fine. Just wish I knew a way to disable the irc errors popping up. Try going to your SwiftKit folder and deleting swiftirc.ocx this will force SwiftKit to update the IRC client and in doing so should restore it to working condition. Vexus
Bump... Is there any way to fix this?
Simmo
are you able to get a screenshot of it happening? also if you go to C:\ProgramData\SwiftKit\Profiles\{YourPorfileName}\Data there will be a text file called DebugEx can you paste the contents of that here. If its very large you may need to use something like pastebin.

Simmo
ok yeah that IRC error is different to the on I thought you had, are you able to copy and paste all the text in that error message box, if it is the error im thinking of it should be safe to check the box that says hide further errors. Vexus
Checking that box, seems to do nothing. I always check it and it never stops giving me that error.
