Herb Runs

Featured Replies

So I've started doing herb runs as often as i can and i don't know if its just bad luck but i'm usually only getting 5/6 herbs and usually 1 plant dead out of the 4 plots.

I do ranarrs and always supercompost.

On a side note, i was able to get 15 ranarrs from 1 plot with only magic secateurs, what is the maximum amount you can farm from a plot?

The max I've got from a single patch has been 23 herbs. That was with Supercompost, Magic secateurs, Juju farming potion and Supreme greenfingers aura.

I believe 23 is the absolute max.

(And it's just bad luck. There's always a 10% chance that your crop may die. If you haven't already, you should invest in the Scroll of life reward from Dungeoneering. It grants you a permanent 10% chance of getting a seed back when harvesting a patch, whether it's dead or alive.)

Max is 51 herbs from a patch with jujus and greenfingers (17 x 3). I can post a graph of herb yield distribution after this class, but I'll probably forget to unless someone else posts. I often neglect threads that have no new posts.

Normal for only super compost and sectures is an average of 6.6 herbs per patch, with tier 3 aura and jujus I have 1893 data points that says it is 9.48 herbs per plot, and it goes up with tier 4.

Crystal Pick and Hatchet

Berzerker Ring x 3

3/28 Barrows Items

Derp; ignore what I said about the absolute max.

(Although I think you'd be hardpressed to actually get 51 herbs.)

Edit: I'll try to post some of my data when I get home, as far as averages go anyway.

Umm...I forget how many data points that is. Regardless, you can see that getting 6-9 herbs is very common, and 10+/5 are significantly rarer.

you can check every 20 mins if you care that much. (use remote farming if you can)

Also - make sure you grow nasturtiums in the flower patches with your herbs. As in real life farming, Runescape farming also makes us of distraction plots which keep disease away from your money crops ...

It may not increase your yields, but you will get fewer diseased plots.

Well, it would be worth noting that no flowers help protect your herbs from disease; they only affect allotment patches (onions, tomatoes and potatoes for Marigold specifically.)
