Help with staff and antidragon shield.

Im giving this Eoc a chance before I quit the game all together but so far I'm leaning towards quit. I can not figure out how to wield a shield and a staff at the same time in order to complete a slaying assignment of steel dragons. Is there an off hand dragon shield or staff? I tried a crossbow and diamond tipped bolts, however, the message came up that I was not wielding a strong enough weapon.

All the staves are now 2h weapons.

Instead of staves you can now wield wands with a shield. Try buying a grifolic wand, it shouldn't be too expensive right now.

Best option for a metal dragon task would be to go grab a grifolic wand and cast the spell the dragon is weak to.

 

With the antidragon shield and antifire potions you'll be taking zero damage at a distance, so that's all you need in terms of gear :)

imunurse2, this exact issue in F2P caused me to quit. That and the total devaluing of my entire bank caused by the rise of EoC. Further, I have no idea what punishment I'll now take with Dungeoneering for having a cb level of 141 instead of my old cb of 85, thanks to the EoC changes. I just couldn't see the point in playing anymore after discovering that it would take me way too long to rebuild and/or build new stuff. Personally, I suggest you quit as well and make Jagex realize that it wasn't a good idea to flip everyone backwards like that, especially since they didn't give F2P enough time to beta-test the blasted thing alongside P2P. :-X

You do realize that not only is she p2p, but the things you highlight specifically in your post are no where near as bad as you make it seem? DG is easier than it was before, and market instability is (shocker) temporary.

This shit again? You realize that in the non-members game, there is only ONE DRAGON in the entire game. Once you kill her, she is DEAD. FOREVER. You don't need to wield an anti-dragon shield with a staff.

 

On the case of dungeoneering, it's actually been made leagues easier. Monsters hardly do damage to you anymore. If you bothered trying it before hammering out dozens of shitposts whining about it, you'd have realized that in seconds.

 

You're F2P. The best armor you can buy costs a few hundred thousand gold TOTAL. You should have no issue affording all the best armor many times over.
