Saru Inc
Hello, I'm coming back from a looooooooong staycation, and so this whole RS game is foreign too me, basically. What armor should one aspire to use for slayer? I'm going for 99. My outfit currently is BCP/Tassets/Whip/DDef/Fury/Fire cape/dboots I also have an ags, I may sell that. I have about 80m capital for armor, and I'm fine with investing. What are good armor sets for all a round slaying? I know I should aim for a chaotic rapier, but I'm only at 112k dung tokens, and I don't really feel like DGing for two months to get the weapon. What should I look for in an offhand weapon? It seems they all degrade now? Also, on a completely unrelated topic: Have skills become cheaper to level now? Is Herb/Prayer still 200m+? Which is how much it was when I quit. (I quit rougly 1.5? years ago). Thank you, Saru. I have all the 99s, and have been playing since 2001. X3EN
Bandos is still good, and fury is great for the critical boost.Fire cape is nearly useless currently, outperformed by something cheap like a legend's cape.Whip/Ddef is hardly any use; dual wield is only used with momentum, and the best combo is Vine Whip < Korasi + EEE.Out of chaotics, the best overall is maul (and the best to use for all melee tasks), since 2h weapons benefit from abilities, while dual wield does not (it does, but the damage from the offhand does not apply, rendering abilities worthless with dual wield). R.I.P. oO000oO0oO00, RS2 range pure transformed to a maxed PvM char in EoC, ten years of time completely wasted.Good to be gone :)
Ginger_Warrior
I'd probably gamble with Void on most tasks, tbh. Prayer potions are worth next to nothing these days, and soul split easily compensates for the lower armour rating being exchanged for more damage. Even without soul split, protection prayers + healing BoB will cover most problems. Void doesn't degrade so you save yourself a few bob. Rapier isn't the great melee weapon any more. Abilities with a chaotic maul outclasses everything south of the drygore weapons. Even if I absolutely had to use a stab weapon, I'd take the Zammy spear over a rapier now. Fire cape has a higher crit bonus over a Legends Cape (I think), but a lower Armor Rating. Armor Rating isn't that big of a deal in slayer; they're almost all too weak to deal dangerous amounts of damage anyway. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |
Quyneax
I refer to my post here about what weapons and armour to use. For slayer, you still want your fsh, but you also want to switch between attack styles a bit depending on task. Though if you really want, it is possible to mono-style nearly all of slayer. My post was under the assumption it didn't post-EoC and this issue was on Jagex's "to do" list. The 16.67% boost of an FSH outclasses the 10% boost of a void helm, of course. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |

But void top and legs still make fine armour for slayer, as you don't need more typically and it has prayer bonus. You also don't have to switch it which is nice.
