March 7, 201313 yr is Korasi's sword better in eoc? i realise the whole chotics are better thing but just out of those two?
March 7, 201313 yr I'm not sure myself, but a great way to test weapon damage is at the Combat Academy. Just set up a dummy and keep using slice until you get a crit (ability crits are just the max hit). Mark down the damage, then switch weapons and compare their max hits. While this does show you which has higher damage, you have to remember that accuracy is very important too. Usually higher damage weapons will also have higher accuracy (because they're higher level items in general) but there are a few anomalies in which this isn't the case. For example, Elite Enhanced Excalibur has higher DPS than level 80 offhands, but only about 60% the accuracy (thankfully offhand accuracy doesn't matter much unless you're autoattacking). March 7, 201313 yr Normalising Korasi's sword so that it has the same speed as Vine whip yields 833 / 3 * 2.4 gives 666.4 damage when normalised to fasest speed, comparing that to vine whip of 720, thats about 8% better, not counting the Crit bonus. So in terms of raw dps (IE completely neglecting accuracy), Vine Whip is much better than Korasi's sword. Taking accuracy into account (2384 VS 1695), the difference becomes even larger. 6,924th to 30 hunting, 13,394th to 30 summoning, 52,993rd to 30 DivinationKiln Record (Post-EoC): W 25 - L 0, 14 Uncut Onyx, 8 Jad hits received (Best record: Two in the same kiln)Obby set renewed post update #2: 0QBD drops: 21 crossbow parts, 3 Visages, 1 Kites, 2 KitsMax Port Score [2205] Achieved: 27th April 2013 (World 2nd) Farmyard Rampage ranking: 12th, 50,000 Kills. March 7, 201313 yr Author thank you :) the whip seemed to be better still but a lot of people seem to prefer the other so i was wondering if it was just me
August 5, 201312 yr How come the vine whip is so cheap nowadays then? Sorry for the old bump, but seemed relevant. Runescaper since June 2005Blog
August 5, 201312 yr Because: 1. Lack of a t75 off hand (EE is only t72), making it inferior to the easily accessible Saradomin sword or Bandos Godsword (Vine whip needs a t75 off hand to be on par with them). 2. The existence of Chaotic weapons and especially Drygore weapons, both of which are vastly superior to Vine whip. To add salt upon wound, Drygores are buyable and tradeable. 3. With exception of Chaotic weapons, none of the above mentioned requires anything besides the combat stats required to wield them 6,924th to 30 hunting, 13,394th to 30 summoning, 52,993rd to 30 DivinationKiln Record (Post-EoC): W 25 - L 0, 14 Uncut Onyx, 8 Jad hits received (Best record: Two in the same kiln)Obby set renewed post update #2: 0QBD drops: 21 crossbow parts, 3 Visages, 1 Kites, 2 KitsMax Port Score [2205] Achieved: 27th April 2013 (World 2nd) Farmyard Rampage ranking: 12th, 50,000 Kills. August 5, 201312 yr I remember when regular whips were millions. But alternatives is always the reason for price drops besides the items being more common with more people obtaining them
