come back to RS need slayer advice

i came back to RS today havent played in over 1 year id like to finish getting 99 slayer but with the combat change most of the stuff i remember no longer works are there any good guide to setups for slaying i dont have that much cash to spend only around 40m also how are tasks with protection prayers done now with them only protecting 50% of the dmg?

For most monsters you don't even need the protection prayer, a bunyip is enough healing for all the normal tasks if you have at least t7+ gear.

 

you're going to want all 3 combat styles so with your budget I would get a full slayer helm, barrows tops/bottoms (veracs, ahrim, karil), a 6th age circuit for a ring, saradomin amulets for range and melee, arc stream for mage. For capes you want a kiln cape, ava's alerter, and mage arena cape. Otherwise just use a skill cape (t).

 

For boots there aren't a lot of good options, bandos boots are probably your best bet. Gloves you can still use RFD gloves or DT gloves if you have them.

 

For weapons you'll want at least a staff of light, royal crossbow, and chaotic claw for your mainhand / ee for your off hand.

 

 

Upgrades you want to focus on are getting GWD tops and bottoms for the damage boost, then GWD gloves and boots. For weapons you'll want a Chaotic staff and work on getting a drygore mainhand weapon.

thanks for the reply most of what you said i already have as i didnt sell anything when i quit what is t7 armor? will look at getting some of those things out of what you said what requires quests/dungeoneering?

id like to stay away from combat quests for now with the combat changes and dungeoneering isnt a skill i like as i only like to play solo and its painfully slow solo

t7 is tier 7, that is, level 70/75+ armor such as Barrows/GWD etc.

ah thanks just picked up bandos boots my setup is

 

full slayer helm,fury, verac top/legs,RFD gloves,bandos boots,fero/warrior ring, skill cape (t), vine whip+EE

 

what tasks are worth useing mage/range before EoC changes i only ever used melee with slayer

You can actually just use a wand, book, and blood barrage every task using momentum. Even a wand of treachery and grifolic orb will only set you back about 5.3m, but the real cost is in the 50-100k blood barrages you'll need for 99 slayer.

best drops (reasonably accurate/up to date): 1x Elysian Sigil (LS), 1x Arcane Sigil (cs), 4x Armadyl Hilt (solo at 100m, 100m, 50m, and 5m), 2x Saradomin Hilt (solo at 25m), 5x Draconic Visage (34m,1.2m,1.2m) and various cs/ls/ffa Nex splits.
Drygore Drops: 7 Longswords, 3 Maces, 3 Rapiers, 3 Off-hand Rapiers,  5 Off-hand Maces, 3 Off-hand Longswords

ROTS Shields: 12  Seismics: 16

Ascension Crossbows: 6  Spider Legs: 10

Countless Armadyl armour pieces, Saradomin amulets, Dragon Hatchets, and Fremenik Rings.

thats a little out of my price range im not to worryed about slayer xp speed out of curiosity wont barrarge spells only hit multiple targets in a multicombat zone? or atlest thats how i remember them working

For capes you want a kiln cape The Elder Kiln, ava's alerter Do No Evil, and mage arena cape. Otherwise just use a skill cape (t).

 

For boots there aren't a lot of good options, bandos boots are probably your best bet. Gloves you can still use RFD gloves or DT lots of quests needed gloves if you have them.

 

For weapons you'll want at least a staff of light, royal crossbow phase 4 at QBD, and chaotic claw 100 k dg tokens for your mainhand / ee seers hard achievements for your off hand.

 

 

Upgrades you want to focus on are getting GWD tops and bottoms for the damage boost, then GWD gloves and boots. For weapons you'll want a Chaotic staff 200 k dg tokens and work on getting a drygore mainhand weapon.

They buffed solo dg exp rates, chaotic mainhand claw is only 100 k tokens and you use it with an ee because ee is better than all chaotic offhands. There's really no reason to shy away from combat quests either, they all just got easier with EoC for the most part.
