DaydreamNation.
Have been trying to forge a royal crossbow recently, looking for some tips, stats listed below. My budget is around 10-12m for gear. Current setup I have been trying : Guthix CoifFull Royal HideDragonfire Shield (Ranged)Spined BootsRing of LifeArmadyl Crossbow W/ Diamond Bolts (E)Avas Accumulator Inventory - Antifire, Prayer Flask, Super Ranging Pot, Varrock Teleport Tab (Once I'm more confident I'll replace this with the unforged bow), rest sharks First question - Are my stats sufficient to pull it off, if not, what should the focus of my training be? Secondly - Ranged or magic? I've heard mixed opinions (Ranged easier, magic easier with cheap gear?)
Th e Doctor
Bring the unforged bow every time, nothing would be more frustrating than to get struggle through getting to phase 4 and then not having it just for gaining confidence. Hell I say just let yourself die a few times, dying isn't the end of the world and its very fast to get back to your grave in time (less than 2 min), just home tele to port sarim and run west to enter the lair again. If you get to 61 firemaking you can upgrade to a handcannon which would be a significant upgrade. Otherwise just get a staff of light/polypore and mage her. Bottom line is get at least a t7.5 weapon. For the 10-12 mil you should be using at least t7 armor for every slot, royal dhide sucks. I cba to find out if you can use rocktails but if you can use them. Armadyl Drops : 4 Hilts; 3 Chestplates; 2 Chainskirts; 1 Helmet; 1 Buckler; 2 Shard 1; 2 Shard 2; 1 Shard 3Nex : 1 Zaryte BowKalphite King : 1 Drygore Rapier ; 1 Drygore Longsword : 1 Drygore Offhand Rapier : 1 Drygore Offhand Longsword
DaydreamNation.
I don't have any of the quests for the hand cannon, unfortunately. In addition, would just a regular antifire potion be enough, without the antifire shield..? That's the reason I haven't tried to polypore or staff of light. Would switching from royal body / legs / blessed coif to Karil's make a significant improvement? My main issue seems to be the damage using armadyl crossbow - each phase simply takes me too long. Sharks are also the best food I seem to be able to eat ;) Thanks for the response. In general, for my price range / skills, would magic be the better option? E/ In addition, using t7 armor for every slot would involve armadyl boots / gloves, which alone are over my budget :(
Ammako
This is more than sufficient. You will miss the QBD a fair few times due to using a Lv. 70 weapon, but bring a full inventory of the best food you can eat in order to heal whenever your health gets too low.I suggest getting at least Karil's so that the QBD doesn't damage you as much. And that's about it. Avoid the fire walls, make sure your antifire never runs out, make the tormented souls hit themselves when they appear and you're good to go. (Also, having Lv. 70 boots/gloves isn't that important.)

Before the end of Phase 2 I was forced to drink another dose of antifire, and rejuvenate (300s cooldown) was ready to recast :( That in combination with her consistent hits of 400-1000 through my protect from ranged, are the main reason I made this post. Hopefully more practice will allow me to pull this off; I still occasionally struggle dodging multiple walls / timing the souls properly. Appreciate the post, guess I'll give it another few shots in a bit!
Quyneax
Just to be sure: you were using Eagle Eye, right? You can try using protect from magic with a regular antifire potion and an off-hand crossbow for extra damage, or protect from magic with a polypore staff (probably your best bet). If you are using a shield, make sure it's a dragonfire shield, not an antifire shield. Use Resonance whenever possible and don't forget Revenge when there are a lot of worms. I'm about to give it another attempt and buy Karil's armor, but I was under the impression it will degrade if I die (This would burn through my budget rather quickly) In addition, I could probably use some advice on a better ability setup; I'm not used to using one handed crossbows, especially with a shield. This is my current one Piercing Shot, Binding Shot, Fragmentation Shot, Rapid Fire, Resonance, Preparation, Revenge, Rejuvenate, Reflect (Should I get rid of this?), Deadshot, Anticipate, Sharks. Quyneax
Well, put it this way:Protect from Magic + Antifire potion means you get +50% damage from having an off-hand weapon - more if you consider that you can use a tier 75 weapon.Protect from Ranged means you take 50% less damage from ranged attacks - it doesn't affect the fire damage, grotworms, souls or melee attacks. So overall, it may not save any damage, but it'll at least speed up your kills. Your abilities look fine, there's not a lot of options for one-handed attacks (you can use Ricochet, maybe better than Fragmentation because QBD doesn't move), but the defensive ones will work. I think Reflect might not work on the QBD, some bosses are immune to recoil damage. Instead of Rejuvinate, you can use Barricade or Immortality, which should save more damage if used at the right moment (I'm not sure but I think Barricade should work on fire walls and souls?). Polypore for a weapon, of course, but I have no idea on what magic armors would be in my price range (I'm confident I'd manage to break Ahrims trying QBD :( ) Appreciate the help, guess I'll try it once I get a setup decided on. Two handed is definitely a no go. She consistently hit 1600-2400s, I couldn't even make it past phase one. Using my dragonfire shield I was at least able to make it to phase three somewhat consistently (Although no matter how hard I tried I could only start the wave with 4-5 sharks)

starclimber
Have you tried bringing a spirit terrorbird full of sharks with you? That'd be an extra 12 sharks. If its not out of the question, train summoning up to 67 and bring a war tort with you? I haven't tried bringing a spirit terrorbird with me; that could potentially work though. Quick question though - wouldn't it die? I summoned one for no real reason once, and attacked a waterfiend. The spiritbird joined the fight, and the waterfiend started hitting it. Wouldnt the QBD just tear it apart, especially with the fire walls? Training summoning technically isn't out of the question, but I'd much prefer to avoid it; it was painful enough getting 60! Thanks.

DaydreamNation.
And I had by far my worst QBD run, even with the terrorbird. For some reason I couldn't dodge any of the firewalls - my character insisted on running back and forth, even though I only clicked once. I was standing directly west of the first artifact. I messed up on every single soul, and the queen spawned more in every single time I finally got rapid fire. I seem to be getting progressively worse. What stat would benefit me the most significantly if I train it? I'm not sure if I have the money or patience for herblore, but if I need to I guess I need to :(
starclimber
Maybe take a breather and gather yourself another day. It might be that you're pressuring yourself too much to do it too perfectly and mis clicking etc in the process. I don't think you'll be able to make super antifires with your cash stack yet. DaydreamNation.
Still no luck, after several more tries. The main issues I am encountering are 1) Dodging Firewalls consistently - even if I only click on the clear spot once, my character insists on moving back and forth before starting to run, resulting in me getting hit.2) Timing Souls - I run through them around the same second text appears (I usually have no issues on phase 2 souls, yet I always get double hit on phase 3...?)3) Withdrawing food from my terrorbird - I right click store terrorbird, but there simply isn't time to withdraw all. I took about 8000 damage last time trying to get my food out, which alone wasted about half of my extra food :( I can tell it's theoretically possible with my gear / stats, but I really don't think I'll be able to pull it off - I'm up at about 80 tries now. Ammako
You are meant to set your left click option for your summoning icon to Take BoB; That way, you just have to click the summoning icon and you get your food in your inventory. And as for your character moving back and forth several times... I guess part of your character must be stuck in old RuneScape, because that's an issue that was fixed years ago! starclimber
You can assign left-click withdraw on your familiar through the summoning icon on the interface at the top. That will ensure you will be able to remove food. It's the same as assigning it to a special move.

DaydreamNation.
... On my 116th attempt (Yes, I've been counting), I finally hit Phase 4. The second I used Rapid Fire she decided to use extremely hot flames - I desperately spammed Brandish, but I couldn't during rapid fire. Shortly after she summoned her 4 souls and I instantly died. Is there any way to stop the damn rapid fire animation?
