February 12, 200620 yr i have run into a slight problem with rat catchers, im at the part where you have to climb up the trellis and sneak past the guards. i can do the first room without too much difficulty, its the second one thats giving me grief. i spent an hour last night trying tom get to it, and after that i sat down with pen and paper and worked it out. i worked out that the ONLY way it could be done is if the guards patrols exactly mirror eachother. the trouble is that they never do, one of the guards is always standing still while the other one move across. has anybody got any suggesions? i gave up after last night and i just remembered about it now for those of you who are wondering why i chose this time to post I'm not drunk! You wouldn't dare call me drunk if i was sober!
February 12, 200620 yr Climb the trellis and sneak into the NW room. Then move into the SW room when you can. Then wait until guards are at (or near) the balcony. Move behind the wall that's about in the center of the entire floor and wait there. When the guards come back, run into the SE room. Took me a loooong time to figure out the exact sequence. Once you're in that room, the rest is relatively easy.
February 12, 200620 yr They mirrored when I did it, until randoms walked to the guard causing him to stop and the other to keep walking. So maybe try a different world or wait there until there is an update so everything gets respawned.
February 12, 200620 yr Worst quest ever. Took me hours to get past the guards. Just wait until you kill enough rats and have to make your way back - but keep getting sent back inside the house when you're spotted.
February 12, 200620 yr Best tip I can give you is this: You have to manipulate the guards in such a way that they have to mirror themselves. To do this you have to get caught by the guard that is ahead of the other. This is tough and it will take time, but once you get it you should be able to get it done effectively. What I would do is sit in the room that is easily accessed (I think its the one to the east). And just watch the guards and how they moved. There are opening that allow you to get by, but its simply all about timing and they pretty much have to mirror one another in order to get to the room to the west. Tough quest, but it entertained me. So it couldn't have been that bad. I too am stuck on this quest, i have no idea on how to get into keldagrim :? Thats if you didn't do the first quest. That first quest is The Giant Dwarf. If you did the Giant Dwarf Quest... You can access the mine carts that are under White Wolf Mountain and Ice Mountain to get to Keldagrim. R.I.P Shiva
February 12, 200620 yr Took me 3 hours just for that part. ;) But yeh, ya gotta wait til both the guards are on the balcony (the place where you get after you climb up the thingy). They're there for maybe 3-5 seconds but it's enough to run by. And it takes a long time for them to get there, so just be patient and watch carefully. =)
February 13, 200620 yr took me 2 days to get it right. you basically have to be lucky in my oppinion. the guards move without warning, and i could not find a definate pattern. but like someone said, getting caught helps to position the guards where you want.
February 13, 200620 yr off topic: I was the 19th one in world 46 to complete rat catchers :P By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. Sorry, the sig links to nowhere :( .
