Is anything I can do with the protean planks I got from the squeal of fortune?

Featured Replies

First of all I'd like to point out I never train the construction skill. I used to, but I don't do anymore.

The reason I don't do that is because I think it's a HUGE money drainer, even though some of the features might be unique, I prefer spending my money on something I'd actually use. Like runes, food and stuff like that.

With that being said, can I somehow turn the protean planks into a plank I want? That way I could sell them. There is no option for that I can find. Or should I destroy them since I don't train construction?

Any help would be appreciated.

All I've heard is that they can function as any plank for purposes of training, but no I don't think you can sell.

My blog here if you want to check out my Times articles and other writings! I always appreciate comments/feedback.

No, you can't convert them to anything tradable. But why would you want to? You say you don't train construction because it's expensive, and you've just been handed what is essentially free construction exp. No reason to destroy them at all.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't I also have to pay for the nails as well?

Depends on what you make. Some things just require planks. And no, I won't tell you which those things are. Check the Construction guide. ;).

only items that use normal planks (so not oak, teak or mahogany) need nails. It looks like you're 45, so you should be making teak dining tables probably.

Use them for construction daily challenges.

The daily challenges which require you to make flatpacks (maybe others) give back materials of value equivalent to the planks used.

That way it's possible to get the value of the plank you are using them as.
