cowmaster187
So in about a week i will be getting 120 dg, and thus i will be able to cancel dg tasks from the gal in burthrope. My question, which daily challenges are the best to keep un blocked. I would probably like to do either a gathering skill or even dg still. would farming be a good one to keep, it is quick and farm runs are not bad to do ~~~legoman187~~~ Clicky siggy for blogThanks Pendonub for fancy new sigThieving guide[WIP]Loyal player since May 2005 and member since November 2005 and Tifer for many years~~~legoman187~~~
DeEliteOne
DivinationAgilityRunecraftingDungeoneering are all fairly common. Reasoning: The first three are the three slowest skills in the game, and dungeoneering is fairly dead if you don't have a permanent team and are looking to get 200m (also do sinkholes). Inefficiency = fun. That's objective and can't be debated. Ever. Blog to 200m in all skills.Max cape achieved November 5th, 2011.Completionist cape achieved December 29th, 2011.Final Boss title achieved December 28th, 2014.Trimmed completionist cape achieved November 7th, 2015. Hedgehog
Best to worst: RunecraftingDivinationAgilityDungeoneering There's a pretty significant drop-off between divination and agility. Personally I have runecrafting, divination, and dungeoneering unblocked because I have a tendency to disappear for a few days at a time. Sinkholes are lower xp/hour than dg challenges (I think), but it's worth doing them and rc/div challenges instead. I think Bxpprod tested crafting challenges, but I forget what his conclusion was. xpx
I'm in a similar situation, however, i'd like to add another twist to the question- the time it takes to complete the challenge. As far as i looked, farming(plant a herb) and prayer(bury 5 bones) seemed very fast, but is there anything better? Also, is there somewhere an xp table for the rewards? First to 99 Farming on 27. Hedgehog
You want to look at the marginal time it takes to complete the challenge For example, runespan is 100% efficient, so you only need to count the time it takes to get to runespan. The same goes for the divination challenges. Slayer is also one of the fastest, but it doesn't give a good payout. I think it might actually be the highest marginal xp/hour, but it'd take forever to get a decent amount of xp from it.
Bxpprod
Crafting is ~47k xp (think it's 46880 but cant remember, can't be assed) for the time it takes to buy an rune 70 uncharged decorated cooking urns. Not that while it says make blah blah blah, just buying the uncharged and filling them with runes works a treat. Think it costs roughly 100k also. Do your numbers from there because I don't particularly know what numbers to use for crafting since...lolcrafting [bleep] OFF HOW ARE U SO [bleep]ING LUCKY U PIECE OF [bleep]ING SHIT [bleep] [bleep] [wagon] MUNCHER

I also can't be arsed to do anything i don't enjoy in scape, and 20 minutes of agility every day would kill me. If you don't value the xp past 99 very high, you are basically stuck with doing things you hate for the little time that you do play. Basically, you are accounting the real world method as 100% efficient and i'd like you to consider the challenge itself as the 100% efficient method(which it usually is). What is the payout on slayer? Given that it is one thing i do enjoy in scape. First to 99 Farming on 27. September, 2005.First to 3766 Port Score on 20. March, 2014.First to 4664 Port Score on 2. Hedgehog
Dungeoneering challenges take like 2-3 minutes. Runespan can be closer to 15-20ish, but it's really afk. You'd like it. Slayer is like 8k xp, so don't bother.
cowmaster187
so the answer is keep either dg or farming up. ok that is the plan~~~legoman187~~~ Clicky siggy for blogThanks Pendonub for fancy new sigThieving guide[WIP]Loyal player since May 2005 and member since November 2005 and Tifer for many years~~~legoman187~~~

I'll likely continue with dg challenges, but will look into what the rewards for farming/prayer are(given that those only take 10 seconds to complete). First to 99 Farming on 27. Bxpprod
From memory (again someone can surely do this who isn't me because I don't want to waste a day) the reward for farming is ~4.5k xp. Hardly even worth thinking about. [bleep] OFF HOW ARE U SO [bleep]ING LUCKY U PIECE OF [bleep]ING SHIT [bleep] [bleep] [wagon] MUNCHER
cowmaster187
But it is fast, i don't terribly care about xp, once i get comp i will be doing clues and trim reqs. if i get xp yay. if not no big deal. Bxpprod
Then that contradicts your original post. What do you clarify as "the best" because from what I can tell, farming is far from it. It isn't worth keeping. That answers your original question as I read it - how do you mean for it to be interpreted [bleep] OFF HOW ARE U SO [bleep]ING LUCKY U PIECE OF [bleep]ING SHIT [bleep] [bleep] [wagon] MUNCHER

It isn't worth keeping. That answers your original question as I read it - how do you mean for it to be interpreted As i brought out, there are multiple ways to look at this. Right now, you are basing it on the notion that a real world method is 100% efficient and you are going for 200m all skills. However, If you consider the challenge itself as the 100% efficient method, the lineup will undoubtedly change(basically you consider yourself getting 200m in a skill solely with challenges). Hedgehog
There are 2 kinds of efficiency: productive and allocative They have slightly different definitions outside runescape, but this is how I define them for this purpose: Productive: xp/hour of 1 method / xp/hour of another. Basically gives you how much you produce relative to how much you could have produced. Allocative: % of goal achieved / time that could be spent achieving goal. Basically says that getting 4.5k farming xp per day is a bad idea even if it's good xp/hour because it'd take over a century to get 200m. 1 hour of vinesweeper gets you like 2.5 weeks worth of farming challenges. cowmaster187
i meant time and ease of doing it. i don't really wish to do agility rc or div as they do not really help me with my future goals. farming is less than a minute and dg is less than 5. that is what i am going with. tbh i wanted the efficient answer so that i know what i could be doing. i am going to do the inefficient one because simply i can, also the efficient ones are not fun in my mind, sans the dg one. ~~~legoman187~~~ Clicky siggy for blogThanks Pendonub for fancy new sigThieving guide[WIP]Loyal player since May 2005 and member since November 2005 and Tifer for many years~~~legoman187~~~
Bxpprod
Well then, strictly in terms of time spent doing it, Crafting is also exceptionally fast and thus worth considering. Time it takes to buy and fill 70 urns ~1 minute.
