A few questions about elder trees.

Featured Replies

So I now know about elder bows. I know they alch for higher than magic bows.

But I wanna ask something.

If I get 90 woodcutting is cutting these worth it, or should I stick to making magic bows?

Magic bows are very easy to make a bunch of. The trees are located in gnome stronghold and they spawn pretty quickly.

In fact I can easily fill my inventory with magic logs if I wanted to.

But I'm not so sure if it's that easy with elder logs.

Thanks for your time.

When you cut an elder tree you are guaranteed to cut nonstop for five minutes. After five minutes you won't be able to cut the same one for a while

Yep, 5 mins of wc, though sometimes you may get 10 logs or 2 logs in 5 mins. So just use a routine to keep it going, example; start out w/ varrock lodestone tele, wc elder there...once done go to edgeville lodestone the to elder there, wc for 5 mins again, then lodestone to yanille and for a 3rd time wc for 5 mins, once done you can go back to your starting place. Each of these areas has a bank that is not too far off as well. So yes, it can be worth it.

More old-school than you know...

Just to clarify 1 small detail: Once you use up an elder tree with 5 mins of wc it is dead for 10 minutes across all worlds and that is 10 minutes of in-game time.

E.g. if you kill varrock elder then immediately log off for the night it won't be ready to cut in the morning, you'll still have to go elsewhere for 10 minutes.

That's stupid.

Anyway thanks again for the help, guys. I really appreciate it.

So you can actually leave your computer for five minutes as you get ready for bed, then click one more time and use the five-minute timeout to finish it off - if that tip helps at all :P.  Or at least halve the waiting time if you only do the second part.
