In a fishing comp, and I know someone pulled OVER 450k in one hour... with 0 bonus xp. What did they do to do this?

 

Also, at 63 fishing what is considered FASTEST xp?

Are you sure it was in 450K experience in precisely one hour, and not delayed reporting or delayed hiscore updating? For example they could be logged in for five hours before the competition had started, then play one more hour and log out, and wham, 6 hours' worth of fishing xp in an instant.

 

There's an innumerable amount of things that can be "saved up" like cashing in a large number of Penguin Points, quest lamps, other rewards...it's hard to say exactly what they did without more information, but it's definitely possible and not really much that an organizer could do to disqualify such methods.

 

As far as I know, the fastest method would be the tried and true power fly-fishing at Barbarian Village, at least if you're going solely for experience.

Okay, that's what I imagined Arceus. I was guessing penguin points and other minigames, and I wasn't aware of the late update thing, where you can log in early.

And yea, it was precisely in 1 hour, he logged in after I did, couple mins before the comp started.

 

I am imagining he did troll invasion, and penguin points. He has been comped for a while, so quests have no effect... Wonder if you might have a list of all minigames that give fish xp?

 

He also hasn't used any bxp in it, all of that goes into his 200m farm goal.. I am just astonished at that number, we've only known about competition for 3 weeks

Fishing Trawler gives fishing xp but a minimal amount. There is Fish Flingers, but that seems to be only about 23K for a 10 minute game, and hardly keeps up with that sort of time - not to mention wait times for the next game. Can that be circumvented? I can't really think of any others that grant fishing xp skimming the list. Troll Invasion is only about 78K at level 99, right? Four weeks of penguin points would make 188K according to our calculator. So maybe:

 

78K - troll invasion

188K - penguin points

69K - 3 games of Fish Flingers

30K - just under half an hour of regular fly-fishing

------

365K.

 

Still a little short, but maybe there are a couple other things I'm missing.

Add a reset token to invasion, and possibly to penguins, and that gets him there.

not aiming bxp at fishing doesn't avoid getting it though, especially if barely fishes normally so could have had a build up on fishing bxp by accident with, I've got bits in most skills i rarely train, some a few 100k by now

Effigies (because apparently people still get them)

Ports 45k voyage + potential huge xp lamp is another 68.8k.

 

Fastest xp is c2 fishing.

I did c2 fishing to 99 and if I remember right I averaged 70-80k xp/hr at level 90+

I am getting 60-70 at 69, so I am guessing thats a tad slow, will get faster for every tier of fish you unlock
