A question about courts.

Featured Replies

So here is the court note I got:

My question is, is the court time limited? Because I don't like rushing getting there, since I'm a video maker, I have projects to work on when I'm not playing RuneScape. And I want to do this court when I have time to, which could be three days from now, I don't wanna have to delay any of the projects I'm making so I can finish this.

With clue scrolls I don't need to, I can do them any time I want.

What makes me think it could be limited? Well, read the image, The last two lines are what implies that to me.

you can do it when ever you please

at one point there was a limit - you could only do 1 every two weeks. I think that limitation was removed or changed in recent months, though to what I am not sure.

You can do it whenever, you just won't get a second one until you finish it, it seems.

That's the thing I wanna do the court case, just whenever I'm available, and I usually play less than 2 hours a day because of my projects.

Of course when I'm not working on anything I have more time.

Alright, screw this case, I won't decline it just yet, but the fact that I have to start all over again every time I'm not playing anymore is annoying.

Are these cases even worth anything? If it's just some junk worth less than 50K coins in total I won't even bother.

So if no one tells me it's worth it by tomorrow I will decline the case.

The wiki page may be slightly out of date but from what I infer you get a small amount of XP, some token rewards (worth 10K-20K in most cases), and a Mystery box, which can contain a bunch of different stuff but is all pretty much worthless. For your case it's just 2K xp and a mystery box - so I wouldn't expect more than around 10K gp worth.

They just buffed the mystery box according to the d&d improvements update. I'd do it, might as well see what it gives just once.

Inefficiency = fun. That's objective and can't be debated. Ever.

But I'm a very busy man because of my YouTube channel.

When I get far in the case I have to log out to continue my projects, what can I do about that?

You can make some time to do the court case? I'm not sure what you are asking, Blaze. It sounds more like a complaint, rather than a question.

You can do a clue, read the entertaining dialogue, or drop it. If you are worried about it 'taking too long', then do not bother with it.

Alright, I'll try finishing the case. But here is the problem, when I actually went to Edgeville nobody there even had the option of talking about the case. How can I do research if I can't even talk to the people there?

You start by talking to the Clerk in the Courthouse, and it's done entirely in there. You get case reports, examine them, talk to the people downstairs, etc., but I don't think you ever leave the courtroom.

But the problem is there is very limited information, I can't know more without the judge saying if he agrees or not.

I don't care about that, I wanna know the full story first, and I only got minor details.

Again check the Wiki page and click on your specific case and it should give you all the instructions you need/which evidence to uncover to be successful in your case. You will have to follow certain steps based on whether you want to prosecute or defend, so unless you want to do it by trial and error (which will take more time), you probably want to look it up ahead of time.

I am very sure you can only complete one court case every 14 days/resets.

...unless they hotfixed that?

The wiki page contradicts itself - at the top it says you can do the Batch 1 cases with no limits, and a 14 day wait for each of the second batch, and then it says this week's game update removed wait time between cases. Probably it's so rare to get them that it barely makes a difference in any case .

It's not rare at all. Just open caskets.

Yeah I give up, if I wanted to solve a case I'd play something like Phoenix Wright.

I'm just gonna go back to having fun. The fact that I can't log out down there really annoys me and I won't deal with it anymore.
