depends if you wanna kill npcs down there or not. if you kill like 50-60 of whatever gives you more chaos and death from the chest and you wear a water staff you'll get your runes back. if you just wanna kil the 6 and go straight to the chest (recommended) use slayer dart with pray pots.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I used to get almost all my runes back from just the chest at barrows (usually gained deaths and lost a litle bit of chaos, or broke even with chaos), but that was during the bug where if you manually casted you would run forwards sometimes if you casted your spells to quickly (long story short it cost me full ahrims, obby shield, fire cape and a berserker ring). a few weeks later I went back and got almost no deaths but tons of chaos so I started using slayer dart.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

this past week ive had guthans helm, verac helm, dharok legs and plate, ahrim staff, karil bow and torag plate using slayer dart. I also made a lil over 20k chaos which I sold for an onyx (had some tokkul + chaos already banked).

ALSO slayer dart hits fine on the barrows dudes even with low magic aim. I wore god cape, farseer, black hide top, fury, mystic bottom, zam book, wiz boots and mystic gloves (not risking ahrims again) and I hit great on verac, dharok, karil and ahrim while praying (bring an msb and use range against ahrim). because I had decent defense (83) and dharoks plate and legs in my invent I didnt pray against torag and guthan since they dont hit very hard and to save my trips to the bank.

SLayer dart isn't affected by magic bonus. I hit just as well in full rune as I do in mystic.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I have all the information I needed so there is no point to this thread anymore.

What i do when i ancient mage at barrows is first tele to ice mountain, because pray guild is close to it and i recharge my prayer there. Then tele to canfis get my supplies, take short cut with boat to morton. And note i only bring 1 prayer pot and only use it if i have dharok or karil in tunnel because well. they own me with no prayer :oops: And i range ahrim with no prayer and karils xbow with dhide. He may hit a few 20s but i bring plenty of food. On average i use about 5 shark, pretty good. Then after i open the chest i tele back to ice mountain and repeat the process. I would say it owns casue im not even using prayer pot unless karil or dharok is tunnel. Oh and I go to them first and i have around 17 prayer left after them both.(I have 64 prayer)

Oh, Slayer Dart is affected by magic bonus. It's just that the barrows crew have virtually no magic defense.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Personally, I find Ice Blitzing far more enjoyable, even though Slayer Dart + Pots is well cheaper.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Also, if you don't feel the need to bring a Ring of Life, try taking a Ring of Dueling along. Free healing and prayer at the arena, then teleport back to Canifis or Ectoplace after you're done there. Somewhat more convinient than Ice Mountain if you ask me.
