____
compared to the rest of the uk we're very unpatriotic, and with good reason. i hate living in this festering crap heap. can't wait to leave to tell you the truth. Irish have St Patricks day with celebrations in the street. All we really have to celebrate is new years eve (mahogmany to you), and its just like an amplified saturday night really.. Always welcome in Australia Rob ;) Just don't live in the south. They're a bit... off :P
Harrington
BEING BRITISH IS GREAT BECAUSE... * We have an incredible history. * We were once the biggest empire in the world. * We have the fourth most powerful armed forces in the world. * We have enormous diversity, a combniation of 4 nations. * Our country has the longest name in the world. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. * We have one of the lowest crime rates in the world. * We're the fifth most powerful economy in the world. (notice most of these things are in the distant past?) BEING BRITISH SUCKS BECAUSE... * We have the highest underage pregnancy rate on the entire planet * We have more reality TV shows than any other nation. * 2 million of us are [developmentally delayed]ed (incidentally, 2 million people watch Big Brother)... coincidence? I think not. * Our closest neighbour is France * Racist incidents recorded by the police are second only to those of South Africa. * It takes me 90 mintues to drive 12 miles because our roads are so over crowded. * Have you heard our new Eurovision song contest entry? OMG!
BloodAngel
Good Things: -Nice countryside (although it doesn't come anywhere close to New Zealand) -Some good music (Kaiser Chiefs, James Blunt, Oasis) -Variety of cultures -Good rugby and football teams -Wimbledon (Tennis tournament) -Some of the biggest tourist attractions in Europe -Lots of places are within easy travel distance. Bad Things: -Not particualy brilliant at any sport -Its too cold -Our Prime Minister is a guy with satelite dishes on his head -Last British person to win a F1 GP was Coulthard hu now just seems to be driving round the tracks for the scenery. -Got involved in the Iraq war. -More speed cameras than cars lol -Had the two worst number 1s in the music charts ever (The Crazy Frog and Chico) Dunno if this helps. -Bloodangel "Unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a fairy tale." dusqi
Compared to America... I like how, due to our governmental economic policy, the poor are subsidised and so don't have to work a ridiculous number of jobs just to feed their children. I don't like how our roads are so cramped and in general there's just not enough space to do extravagent things with. For it is the greyness of dusk that reigns. The time when the living and the dead exist as one.

jetandre
I hear they like fish n' chips. yes we do lol.. life in britan is less violent than america due to the lack of guns, but still it depends on what part of britan you live in..local villages live in a tight community where every1 knows every1, whereas in a city like london its all fast and everything is a blur...our culture has changed alot where i live...(wales) our language is dying and the local factories where lots of locals worked are being closed down to keep up with the times and to built new shopping outlets...over all life in the uk is pretty good as it very safe and cultural as we have lots of historic landmarks and also we have a queen  but lots of our istory is dying and being replaces by housing estates  hope this helped
